Series: Strike to the Heart
Author: Danielle Grandinetti
Publisher: Hearth Spot Press
Release Date: September 13, 2022
Genre: Historical Romantic Suspense, Christian

She came to America to escape a workhouse prison, but will the cost of freedom be too high a price to pay?

1933, Wisconsin - Large animal veterinarian Katy Wells takes her patients’ welfare personally, so it’s no surprise when she stands up to angry farmers planning a milk strike or takes in an injured draft horse to save its life. But after a visitor from the past discovers her location and reveals a threat, she must choose between her work and her freedom, and whether to trust a man to keep her safe.

To Stand in the Breach is the prequel novella to A Strike to the Heart, releasing April 2022.

He found her.

Desperately clutching the paper, Dr. Katy Wells slipped into the sheltered area between two of
the buildings at the center of the small town of Eagle, Wisconsin. She placed a gloved hand on
the worn plank wall of Town Hall and squeezed her eyes shut to block out the words on the
letter. Fear’s insidious claws sank into her chest. Fourteen years of running, of staying one step
ahead of her uncle and other men who wished her harm … and she’d finally found security
here, in this town, hidden as it was in the middle of the United States.

Until today.

Strike to the Heart Title: A Strike to the Heart
Series: Strike to the Heart
Author: Danielle Grandinetti
Publisher: Hearth Spot Press
Release Date: September 13, 2022
Genre: Historical Romantic Suspense, Christian

She’s fiercely independent. He’s determined to protect her.

Wisconsin, 1933―When a routine mission becomes an ambush that kills his team, Craft Agency sniper Miles Wright determines to find the persons responsible and protect the woman he rescued. But the fierce independence that led Lily Moore to leave her family’s dairy business for the solitary life of a dog trainer and the isolation of her farm don’t make that easy. Neither does his unwanted attraction to her. Meanwhile, escalating incidents confirm that she’s far from safe.

Lily fears letting the surprisingly gentle retired marine into her life almost as much as she fears whoever is threatening her. As Wisconsin farmers edge toward another milk strike, one that will surely turn violent, it becomes clear that the plot against Lily may be part of a much larger conspiracy. When the search for her abductor leads close to home, she must decide whether to trust her family or the man who saved her life.

Miles Wright pressed his eye to the A5 telescopic sight attached to his Springfield long-range
rifle. Instead of being hunkered down in the trenches of Europe or in the humidity of Central
America, as he would be if he’d stayed in the army, he flattened himself against the rough
branch of a monstrous pine one hundred yards from the ruins of a stone house lost amid the
forests of northern Wisconsin.

He breathed deeply, the smell of decaying leaves filling his nose even as the action calmed his
heart. Dusk had come, but he could still spot the shadows of his four fellow retired soldiers
darting from tree to tree toward the stone structure where Lily Moore’s kidnappers likely stashed
her. His team was tasked with a simple rescue and had yet to meet any resistance. Miles’ job
was to keep it that way.

As Silent as the Night Title: As Silent as the Night
Series: Strike to the Heart
Author: Danielle Grandinetti
Publisher: Hearth Spot Press
Release Date: September 13, 2022
Genre: Historical Romantic Suspense, Christian

He can procure anything, except his heart’s deepest wish. She might hold the key, if she’s not discovered first.

Chicago, 1933―Lucia Critelli will do anything for her ailing grandfather, including stand in a breadline to have enough food to make him a St. Nicholas Day meal. When she catches the eye of a goon who threatens her grandfather, she discovers the end of Prohibition doesn’t mean the end of the mafia’s criminal activity. Retired Marine Scout Giosue “Gio” Vella can find anything, especially if it helps a fellow Italian immigrant, so he has no doubt he can locate his neighbor’s granddaughter, who has gone missing from a local church. Keeping her safe is another matter. Especially when he chooses to hide out with his Marine buddy in Eagle, Wisconsin, the site of a barely-held truce among striking dairy farmers. Will Christmas bring the miracle they all need or will Gio discover there are some things even he can’t find, particularly when he stumbles upon the most elusive gift of all: love.

The highlight of the evening, however, were the last few songs, which the entire congregation
was invited to sing. Lucia’s heart swelled full-to-bursting as she sang, but at the initial stanzas of
“Silent Night,” she fell silent. Beside her, almost in a whisper, Gio sang for the first time that
night.

Notte silenziosa, notte Santa …

Tears pricked Lucia’s eyes. Not just at the incredible voice she didn’t realize Gio had, but at how
holy the moment felt. Around her, people she didn’t know raised their voices together. Young
and old. Rich and poor. Farmers and city dwellers. American and Irish and Italian. It mattered
not. All of them had one wish for this Christmas season …

… Dormi nella pace divina … to sleep in heavenly peace.

Would her peace return? Would her world right itself? Would she be able to spend Christmas
with Nonno? Lucia glanced at the man beside her. Would there be a future for them?

I truly enjoy Romantic Suspense novels and I also like new to me Authors. Into the Fog by Karen Randau is both of those. It is the first book in the Peach Blossom Orchard series.

WOW, I was captivated by this storyline from the first chapter. I began reading and could not put it down and finished the book in 3hrs. Marie Jessica(MJ) is a wonderful character who has been dealing with a lot in life after service in Afghanistan. I LOVE how she is helping her mom run the Peach Blossom Orchard. She is an avid runner and when her running buddy goes missing she is quite worried. Josh Rivers is also another main character in the book who is a recent Widower, losing his wife and children in an accident. He never imagined he would run into MJ again, after having nightmarish issues with her in Afghanistan. They seem to form a bond when he helps her try to locate her missing running buddy. I LOVE how fast-paced this book is, yet it is a wonderful read. The Mystery, Romance, Suspense, and Christian Faith in this book are a GREAT combo. I LOVED this book and I HIGHLY recommend it to those who love a Clean Romance and Suspense book! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Karen Randau a best-seller author of fast-paced mystery, thriller, and suspense books from her home in the picturesque mountains of Arizona. She enjoys cooking, hiking, and hanging out with her family. In addition to the Peach Blossom Romantic Suspense series, her books include the Frankie Shep Mystery-Suspense Series, the Kayla Walsh Suspense Series, and Rim Country Mysteries.

More from Karen

Into the Fog is set in a farming community outside Tahlequah, Oklahoma, home of the Cherokee Nation, the largest of the 39 Native American tribes in Oklahoma.

If you’ve ever watched old Western movies, you may have heard a lot about the dangers of traveling through Indian Territory. Did you know that much of what is now Oklahoma was called the Indian Territory until Oklahoma became a state in 1907? Some of the tribes fought with the Confederacy during the Civil War, and some fought with the Union.

If those weren’t enough reasons for an identity crisis for the people of Oklahoma (who sometimes refer to themselves of Okies), the federal government lists Oklahoma in both the South and the Southwest regions of the United States. Many Okies claim their state is in Midwest region of the United States, but it is not listed that way in the federal census.

One thing is for sure: Oklahoma has a culture all its own, rightly earned by its confusing history. Many of these cultural oddities are explored in Into the Fog.

You’ll also enjoy the two main characters, MJ and Josh.

Marie Jessica “MJ” Goodrich served with the Army Rangers in Afghanistan until a bomb gave her a life-altering injury and a case of PTSD. She believes her injuries were so bad that no man will ever want to marry her. Besides, her mother’s failing memory and the peach orchard keep her too busy to embark on a romantic relationship.

Josh Rivers always wanted to be an artist, but he’s stuck running the auto shop he inherited. He’s dreamed of MJ ever since he pulled her from a bombed marketplace in Afghanistan, and it cost him his wife and children. He doesn’t believe he deserves another chance at love, but he prays for companionship anyway—and finds MJ unconscious in a ravine moments later. Could a guy’s luck get any worse?

The question answered in Into the Fog is: Will Josh die saving MJ again, or will they get out of the whirlwind of mystery and danger swirling around them in time to find their happily ever after?

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: His Delightful Lady Delia by

Book: His Delightful Lady Delia

Author: Grace Hitchcock

Genre: Historical Romance

Release date: November 1, 2022

Behind the curtain, she must put on the performance of a lifetime . . . while love and risk take center stage.

Delia Vittoria’s mother has lost her voice at last. After five years of being her diva mother’s understudy, it is time for Delia to assume her place as the lead soprano onstage behind the Academy of Music’s faded velvet curtain. And she is all that stands between the Academy and its greatest threat–the nouveaux riches’ lavish new Metropolitan Opera House.

Kit Quincy never misses opening night, but when his sister begs him to help get her husband out of an Italian opera star’s arms, Kit accidentally confronts the younger Lady Vittoria instead. When he meets the stunning young diva again, he attempts to make amends, but then finds himself pulled into a society matron’s plot to win the great opera war. To draw attention to Delia Vittoria as the Academy’s new soprano star, Kit is convinced to act as both Delia’s patron and the enigmatic phantom who once haunted the Academy years ago. But when a second phantom appears, more than Delia’s rising career is threatened.

I really enjoy the Christian Historical Fiction genre.  His Delightful Lady Delia by Grace Hitchcock is the latest book in that genre that I have read. It is Book 3 in the American Royalty series. I have not read the first 2 books in this series, but I feel it reads well as a Stand Alone novel.

I will have to say that this storyline just didn't click with me until half way through the book. I will be completely honest and say that I think the Opera theme of the book is the reason it didn't click with me. The Synopsis read well and intrigued me, but once I started reading the book I didn't get the same feeling. I finally started getting into the book when Delia and Kit started a Romance. I did like Delia being able to take on the lead role in the Opera after 5yrs. The relationship between Delia and Kit was the highlight of the book for me. I love how they both let God's plan change their plans and life. This book is a book about Trusting God's plan and frienship. I do like the Christian Historical genre and have read other books by Grace Hitchcock and LOVED them. I think many will enjoy this book a bit better then I did. I still gave it 4 Stars as the second half of the book was WONDERFUL!

Grace Hitchcock (www.gracehitchcock.com) is the award-winning author of multiple historical novels and novellas. She holds a master’s degree in creative writing and a bachelor of arts in English with a minor in history. Grace lives in the New Orleans area with her husband, Dakota, and their sons and daughter.

More from Grace

I’m pretty certain every author started as an avid reader who dreamed of how they would change an ending or change who the heroine ended up with if they could write the book instead. (Anyone else think Theodore Laurence should have married Jo March?) It’s that ever-beautiful question of “what if” that has haunted some of my favorite stories and often drives my own stories to spark to life.

I first discovered The Phantom of the Opera as a child and fell in love with the beauty of the Broadway musical, a love that continued into my adulthood. So, when I was researching ideas for Book Three in the American Royalty series and I stumbled upon the great opera-house wars between the new money’s opera house and the Academy’s elite opera house, the “what if” sequence began and I knew I had to write my version of a phantom-of-the-opera story. Then when I researched the Italian opera company, I grew even more excited, as I’m from a large Italian family. And when I say large, I mean it’s not uncommon for our smallest gatherings to be only forty people, and when the whole krewe is together, we need a large facility to house us all. I’ve also visited New York and Italy and felt I could add some authenticity to the Italian characters in my novel, which brings me to the leading lady—a delightful opera singer named Delia Vittoria, who takes a beloved hero from Book One in My Dear Miss Dupré, Kit Quincy, by surprise.

I knew from Kit’s character that if he’d met the woman he was meant to wed, nothing would have stopped him in his pursuit, so I knew I had to introduce a new heroine instead of a lady introduced in Book One. It is rather daring to bring in a new lead in the third book of a series without some form of introduction in prior novels, but I felt Kit’s character warranted it. Kit is by far the “oldest” hero I have written about to date, and to my delight, he captured my heart with his genuine soul and fierce devotion toward the woman he loves. Because of his age and personal experience, I felt that Kit could be a wonderful example of true, godly love to a woman who has seen almost nothing but poor imitations. I hope that you will enjoy their journey toward love and my nod to The Phantom of the Opera! Happy reading, friends!

I LOVE Novela Books and Christmas-Themed books. Keeping Christmas Volume Two is written by 6 different authors. Each author has written a short novella for the book.

USA Today Bestselling author of Aggie and Past Forward series, Chautona Havig lives in an oxymoron, escapes into imaginary worlds that look startlingly similar to ours and writes the stories that emerge. Jennifer Sienes holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in education, but discovered life-experience is the best teacher. She loves Jesus, romance and writing—and puts it altogether in inspirational contemporary fiction. Her daughter’s TBI and brother’s suicide inspired two of her three novels. Although fiction writing is her real love, she’s had several non-fiction pieces published in anthologies including several in Chicken Soup for the Soul. She has two grown children and one very spoiled Maltese. California born and raised, she recently took a step of faith with her real-life hero and relocated to Tennessee.

Tabitha Bouldin is a student at Southern New Hampshire University, where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Creative Writing. As a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), she works with critique groups and provides endorsements for other authors. Tabitha’s genre of choice is Contemporary Christian Romance which she describes as: Adventure with heart. Tabitha spent ten years working as a Medical Assistant before God opened the door which allowed her to become a stay-at-home-homeschooling-mom and author.

Melissa Wardwell resides in Owosso, Michigan with her husband and three teen-aged children. She doesn’t mind alternating between the world of writing and the reality of being a mother, but she would rather sit with a good book or a good friend and a cup of coffee. When she isn’t penning works of fiction, she is busy reviewing books for her blog, Back Porch Reads. To see more from Melissa Wardwell, visit www.melissawardwell.com

Who says you can’t begin a new career after middle age? Certainly not Susan K. Beatty. She is passionate about writing about finding courage through faith and grit, particularly through the trials of breast cancer and other life trials. Her daughter is a metastatic breast cancer “thriver” and has been an inspiration for her writing. Susan’s first novel, Faces of Courage, debuted May 2021, as part of the Faces of Courage series, including several novelettes. She is also the author of An Introduction to Home Education (AKA California Homeschool Manual). Susan is a professional writer/journalist and is active in the writer community. She is proof you can begin a fiction writing career at any age.

Stacy T. Simmons writes uplifting fiction that delights the reader’s romantic sensibilities. Thirty-four years of marital bliss is a great contributor. She is a mom of two grown children, and she and her family have a menagerie of pets she likes to call “Noah’s Ark.” You can find her working on her next manuscript with a piece of dark chocolate and a cup of coffee nearby. Connect with Stacy on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and her blog, Fueled by Faith and Caffeine.

More from Tabitha

Castles near and far. Over time and across worlds both real and fictional. When it came time to write for Keeping Christmas, the world opened up to offer each of us a jewel for our stories. While I chose to base my castle off of a real castle in Romania, others chose a different route. Yet we all came together with a singular mission to write stories about Christmas and to bring the joy of Christ into each and every book. Keeping Christmas is about more than overseeing a holiday. It is looking back through the years of Christmases far and wide, from our real world through fantasy lands some of us dreamed up, and keeping the spirit of the season alive.

Come and keep Christmas with us as we journey across land and sea, through the skies on an airship, and deep into the contemporary halls and towering turrets. Here you’ll meet characters to fall in love with and read stories that span the ages, from a scribe in King Herod’s castle to a paleontologist in the Cotswolds.
