Escape to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee in this sweet tale of two young people who meet by chance, their paths soon overlapping and intertwining amid a cast of warm-hearted characters in the small rural community of Happy Valley.

With Grandpa suffering a heart attack, Juliette Hollander saw little choice but to head back to their Tennessee mountain farm in Happy Valley to help out.  She didn’t expect, or want, to leave behind her life and work in North Carolina to return to her grandparents’ home so soon. Nor did she imagine meeting, and working with, the mysterious man she met briefly last summer and never thought to see again.

Walker Logan spent the last two years traveling the United States, seeing the beauty of the country and running from his past. But an old rock house he sees while hiking near Abrams Creek Campground unexpectedly calls to his soul. With danger close behind, he never stayed in one place long enough to put down roots. Yet now, with a new vision, he decides to take the risk.

I really enjoy books that take us back in time and this book, Tatiana by Madeline Brock, takes us back to the 1830's.

Tatiana is being raised by her Dad after her mom dies. She is the youngest of 3 sisters. The family attends church weekly, she meets a young lad, Jonny, Jonny and Tatiana become fast friends. She also becomes friends with the Pastors son, Robert. Tatiana has a lot going on her life and is rebellious as a young girl. She gives her life to Christ and begins to seek forgiveness for her sins and tries to not be so rebellious. She has many struggles throughout her teen years, but as she nears 18, she is becoming less rebellious and more mature. She really has a grown liking for both Jonny and Robert? Who will she choose? Will one of them become a life long mate??

I really enjoyed reading this book. Tatiana is much like me: Bold and Spunky! The author really has a GREAT book here and I am looking forward to reading more in this series as this is the 1st book in the Upward Chronicles series. FANTASTIC book!

Every year so many want to follow a "Read through the Bible in a Year" plan. Many start it with good intentions, but realize that it can be hard to follow. I much prefer Devotionals and that is why this book "Encountering God's Heart For You" by Diane Stortz seemed very intriguing to me.

Encountering God's Heart For You is a unique and user friendly Devotional Book. Each page is numbered 1 to 365, which makes it a lot easier to follow if you miss a day. The reader is not feeling "guilty" for missing a day. The Devotional Book takes the reader on a Chronological reading plan from Genesis to Revolution.

I really like the format of the Devotional. Each day consists of a Daily Chapter/Bible Reading, the devotional reflects on the reading for the day. There is also a prayer for each day. The Devotionals are very thought provoking and very easy to read and understand.

I highly suggest this Devotional for Christian Women who are looking for Encouragement and enjoy reading a easy format book. VERY Encouraging Book!

Diane Stortz is a multipublished author who writes to make God’s wonders known to the next generation. Diane’s books for women, A Woman’s Guide to Reading the Bible in a Year and Encountering God’s Heart for You, both from Bethany House, encourage women to get to know God through His Word, the Bible. Her children’s releases include the best-selling Say & Pray Bible and I AM: 40 Reasons to Trust God, both from Tommy Nelson. Diane and her husband have two married daughters and five grandchildren—all boys! Visit her at www.DianeStortz.com.

More from Diane

Twenty years ago, I was invited to join a women’s Bible study group planning to read through the Bible in a year to get to know God.
Although I’d been a Christian for many years and had read many parts of the Bible and used the Bible in my work as an editor, I had never actually read the entire Bible.
I joined the group. We read about three chapters a day and met weekly on Monday nights to discuss what we’d read.
I’ve repeated that experience in various forms most years since then, and it has changed my life in so many ways. (Getting to know God does that, right?)
I’m convinced that one of the most loving things we can do for someone else is to invite and encourage her to become a lifelong reader of the Word, and to read it together.
That’s how I view my new devotional, Encountering God’s Heart for You. It’s an invitation to every woman to pick up her Bible, read along with me, and look together for all the ways God teaches us about himself on every page.

All good things must come to an end. Turning Tide by Melody Carlson is the 4th and Final book in the Legacy of Sunset Cove Series. I have read a couple of the books in the series, and though each book can be read individually, reading the entire series will really give you a sense of the WONDERFUL characters and happenings in Sunset Cove.

We go back to Sunset Cove during the World War I Era. Anna McDowell, the Editor of the local Newspaper, has to report on the Grim War news. She is also aware of local happenings, such as local Dr. Daniel helping the wounded. Also, local resident, Katy, is expecting her first child, her husband is in the trenches of the War. The War has a cost for many, including the residents of Sunset Cove. Will Sunset Cove recover from the happenings of World War I? Will relationships be compromised or have tragic endings? GRAB a copy of the book, you will not be disappointed.

I have fully enjoyed this series, I must say I think this book was my favorite of the ones I have read. The many twists and turns in the book are wonderful. I enjoyed reading the "ending" of many parts of the Storyline that have played out in the series. Melody Carlson is a GREAT Author, and the Sunset Cove series is a GREAT series, with Turning Tide being my favorite in the series. GREAT Book!

Melody Carlson has written more than 200 books (with sales around 6.5 million) for teens, women, and children. That’s a lot of books, but mostly she considers herself a “storyteller.” Her young adult novels (Diary of a Teenage Girl, True Colors etc.) appeal to teenage girls around the world. Her annual Christmas novellas become more popular each year. She’s won a number of awards (including RT’s Career Achievement Award, the Rita, and the Gold medallion) and some of her books have been optioned for film/TV. Carlson has two grown sons and makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and yellow Lab dog.

More from Melody

Writing about the WW1 era has definitely been a good history lesson for me. Prohibition laws in Oregon (and rum-runners breaking them) combined with a massive war that changed the world and a global epidemic is worth paying attention to. Especially since history sometimes repeats itself. The early 20th century had a lot going on—much that seems nearly forgotten. I’m glad to see the movie 1917 is doing well—and we plan to see it this week. Although I’m not a fan of gruesome war movies, this era continues to intrigue me. Even as I wrapped up my Sunset Cove series with Turning Tide I was left wondering . . . what’s next? But isn’t that the beauty of story?

Release Date: March 3, 2020

It started with one little lie. But Jane Hardy will do everything in her power to uncover the truth in this gripping new romantic suspense.

Reid Bechtol is well-known for his documentaries, and his latest project involves covering Jane’s career. Jane has little interest in the attention, but the committee who appointed her loves the idea of the publicity.

Colleen Coble has been a favorite author of mine for many years. I was excited to see a new series coming out. One Little Lie is the 1st book in the Pelican Harbor series. This series will be a mix of Suspense and Romance.

The main Character is Jane Hardy, who was recently appointed to be the Interim Sheriff, replacing her father who retired. She immediately has a BIG case on her roll that becomes a big Mystery. She feels her past has come to the present and may be behind the recent crime she is investigating. In the midst of her Crime Solving, a well known Journalist, Reid Bechtol comes to town wanting to do a Documentary on Jane's career. Jane is wanting to concentrate on solving the Crime Mystery, but agrees to the filming. Reid and Jane find that they can work well together, but at the same time Reid is hiding a deep secret. Will he reveal that secret? Will Jane and Reid find they have way more in common they they knew? Will it hurt their relationship or grow their relationship?

I really found this book to be very intriguing. It is a little bit of a different style of Colleen Coble then I am used to, but I truly LOVED this book. The MANY twists and turns keep one reading the book and make it a "don't put down" book. Definetly a MUST READ!! I am very much looking forward to Book 2 in this series and further!!
