Winter is upon us and that means DRY skin and other skin related issues. More about the Company

I received the following Items for to use and review:

1 12oz Body Cream
1 8oz Foot Cream
1 4oz Hand Cream tube
1 2oz Hand Cream tube
A few samples of hand cream to pass out to friends

My Thoughts and Review:
I have stress induced Eczema on my Arms, just started in March of this year. I have been using Prescription Strength Hydrocortisone Cream to treat it. I also switched to using Oatmeal soap to bathe, as I heard Oatmeal soap helps the outbreaks. The combination of treatment was working OK, but it wasn't going away completely. I had begun researching online how to treat eczema naturally and this opportunity came along. I also have really "dry" feet and heels. I wear Sandals about 8 months out of the year, so the heels take a beating. I was ecstatic when I received the confirmation that I was on the Review team.

I received the various creams about 3 weeks ago and immediately began using the products.

I began with the Foot Cream(forgot to take a picture). I applied the Cream right before bed the first night and woke up to drastically improved heels and feet. I continued to use it and by the 3rd use my feet were and still are SMOOTH!!I continue to use the Foot Cream every other day and LOVE it!

The Hand Cream is so different from other hand creams or lotions that I have used. I LOVE the non-greasy feeling and that it leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth. I wash my hands multiple times per day and I don't feel the need to reapply the cream like I do with other lotions and creams. I use the Hand Cream about once a day, as I don't normally have dry hand issues so once is enough.

The Body Cream, oh the Body Cream, is by far my favorite. I have been using it on both of my arms and have seen DRAMATIC improvement with the Eczema. I had 4 spots when I began using it 3 weeks ago and I now only have one noticeable spot. 3 of the Eczema spots are completely gone, the 4th is almost gone.I have been treating the eczema for 8 months prior and didn't see much improvement. Udderly Smooth helped my eczema within 3 weeks! I am beyond AMAZED and pleased with the Body Cream!

Things I really LOVED about Udderly Smooth:
  • Healing of Dry Skin issues begins within a couple of days.
  • The Creams do not leave a Greasy feeling on the skin.
  • Very Affordable for everyone.
  • MADE in the USA product.
  • Doesn't wash off while washing hands.
The only NEGATIVE for me:
The Creams weren't as natural as I thought they would be. Some of the ingredients are non recognizable.

Mosaic Reviews: HelloFresh

Do you loathe meal planning and grocery shopping?? Do you wish there was someone to do it for you and delivers? Well, there is: HelloFresh

HelloFresh is a Subscription service that creates recipes, creates weekly menu choices, gathers the ingredients for your 3 meal choices and delivers to your door every Wednesday.

I recently had the opportunity to receive a weekly box for my family to enjoy as part of my participation in Mosaic Reviews.

How Does it Work:

You will need to create an account at HelloFresh website. Once you have created your account you will be able to select your first delivery box. You have to have your order in the system the Wednesday prior to the next Wednesday delivery, so basically 7 days in advance. HelloFresh has 2 different Boxes to choose from: Classic and Veggie which both come in 2 person meals or 4 person meals. You are given 3 meals as the main choices, but there are 2 optional that you can swap out for any of the 3. Sit back and wait for your Wednesday delivery!

Our Family's Thoughts and Review:

We are a family of 5, so we cooked all 3 meals for dinner the night after we received our box. The box was delivered on Wednesday, but we are at church on Wednesday night. The box arrived while we were gone, but that did not create a problem. The food comes in a VERY well insulated box and sits atop 2 very strong ice packs.

Our 3 meal choices were: Steak and Brussels Sprouts Stir-Fry, Chile Dusted Shrimp with Corn Relish, Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Lemony Skillet Potatoes and Zucchini.

My husband is the Chef of the family and I am the baker, so my hubby was the one who prepped and prepared the food. He likes for "everyone to stay out of the kitchen while I am cooking", so I didn't get to the food being made, but I did get his opinion on the preparation process. His thoughts: "The meals are easy to prepare, especially with all the ingredients measured and ready for cooking. The cooking process is easy and most of the meals did take 30 minutes or less. The Tendorloin took a bit longer, but it was worth it".

I was arranging the food on plates and bowls as each meal was ready. The finished meals were looking delectable. The 3 meals were ready for us to enjoy in about 1hr 45minutes. The wait was COMPLETELY worth it! I was quite impressed that each meal created a LARGE portion. We all took a portion of each meal and enjoyed dinner. My boys did surprise me by saying the Steak and Brussels Sprouts Stir Fry was actually spicer then the Chile Dusted Shrimp with Corn Relish. The meals were not too spicy though because the boys went back for seconds. YES, even though the meals were for 2, there was enough for seconds for my boys. I myself enjoyed every bite of each of the 3 meals! My husband was very satisfied with the meals! My personal favorite was the Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Lemony Skillet Potatoes and Zucchini. The family really enjoyed the meals!!

Some quotes from my boys:
8yr old: "Wow we are eating fancy tonight"   We are more of a comfort food type of family, thus he thought this was fancy food. LOL

11yr old: He came to me about 2 hrs after dinner and said "When are we getting another box?" My 11yr old is the PICKEST eater I have ever met, so he comment says a LOT!! He truly enjoyed it!

The things I really Like about HelloFresh service:
  • All the ingredients are shipped to you in the EXACT amount you need.
  • The quality and freshness of the food and ingredients.
  • The beautiful recipe cards that give cooking instructions with pics.
  • Ability to "pause" your delivery for however long you need to.
  • No CONTRACT and NO Minimum monthly order
  • Customer Service is OUTSTANDING! I received a call a couple days after delivery from their Social Media rep and she was friendly, helpful and we had a nice conversation!
The CON for our family: The COST!! I am a Frugal Shopper and my weekly food budget is about $100. 3 meals will only cover 1 night for our family, so that would put our grocery budget through the roof.

More info about HelloFresh Subscription Service:

Cost per week:

Classic Box (3 meals):
2 people $69
4 people $129

Veggie Box (3 meals):
2 people $59
4 people $109

Shipping is ALWAYS FREE!

I really wish HelloFresh was more cost effective for our family because we would be ordering a couple times a month!! 5 out of 5 stars! EXCELLENT food and service!

Mosaic Reviews: See the Light Art Project DVD (Peaceful Sea)

My 11yr old LOVES drawing and is a "Budding artist". I was given the opportunity, as part of the Mosaic Review Team, to use and review See the Light Art Projects DVD. My son and I were super excited when we found out we were receiving a DVD.

We received the Peaceful Seas DVD in the mail about a week later and we began watching and learning right away. Peaceful Seas is a WaterColor Art Project, and we choose this one because WaterColor is something that my son has never tried. Peaceful Seas is also based on the works of Winslow Homer, a watercolorist from the 19th Century.

The DVD is 98 minutes long and divided into 4 Sessions:

1. Set the Scene and Basic Wash (32 minutes)

2. Beach Foreground with Salt and Plastic Bag Techniques (20 minutes)

3. Creating the Water in Watercolor (26 minutes)

4. Final Details of Boat and Shore (20 minutes)

Pat Knepley is the instructor in the video and she takes the students step by step through the Art Projects.

My son & I worked through the DVD in a week, taking one lesson at a time.

Lesson 1: We learned how to draw sailboats and do a Basic Watercolor Wash. The sailboats had to be drawn in way that they would be "covered" up by the Watercolor and not be seen when done. My son had a difficult time with this step at first because he wanted to press hard, but after pressing lightly he got it.

Lesson 2: Joshua had the BEST time with this part of the project. He used Table Salt to create the Beach scene. He learned that the salt gives the Beach color a "sand feel" by it feeling grainy. The plastic bag was used to make the Rock look "rough".

Lesson 3: Joshua had the hardest time with "Creating the Water". He felt his hand wasn't steady enough, so we took a minute and rested the hand differently and he worked it out. I LOVED watching the water become real on paper, it looks so serene and beautiful.

Lesson 4: The Watercolor is almost done and this lesson was about adding in the detail of the Boat and Shore areas. Joshua LOVES using Chalk Pastels, so this was "easy peasy" for him.

Peaceful Seas Art Project is a WONDERFUL DVD and lots of fun. Joshua has inquired about doing more watercolor projects, something I could have never imagined he would be interested in.

Mosaic Review: iTooch App

My 3 boys all have Android Based Tablets that they really enjoy.  I have found it difficult to find Educational Apps that are geared toward their age. I was introduced last week to a company that has a nice selection of a apps for their age group. iTooch by Edupad has now released their apps on Android and we had the opportunity to use and reveiw as part of my participation for Mosaic Review Team.

About iTooch:

The app is available for Apple, Windows and now Android products. EduPad just released the Android version in August and it is growing!

Our Thoughts and Review:

We downloaded the FREE version of Science Grade 3 on my 8yr old son's  Android Table for my 8yr old and 10yr old to use. Both of the boys really enjoyed the app very much. They both liked that it is more of a "game" then learning. The points and leveling up and getting bonus points were fun for them. The app was very easy to navigate, the "Characters" were entertaining and the overall look and feel of the app was clear and concise. Both of my boys have asked for more of the subjects to added on to their tablets(each of my boys has their own Android Tablet).

I think this is a great app for supplementing, for "school on the road", or just for fun. My boys will continue to use the App!

Mosaic Reviews: Homeschool Programming KidCoder Window/Game Programming

We are in the "Age of Technology" and kids are learning how to computers at EARLY ages. Computers are a wonderful tool and learning how to do advance things with them is also wonderful. My 11yr old son first used a computer at age 2 and now he LOVES Gaming and all things computer. My 11yr old was excited when I told him about being offered the opportunity via Mosaic Reviews Team to "use and review" a program by Homeschooling Programming. We selected KidCoder Windows/Game Programming and we have been using it over the summer. For our participation we received a PDF of the Textbook and links to Instructional Videos.

My Thoughts and Review:
We chose to use the PDF right off the computer instead of printing it and it worked wonderfully. I also installed the program on the boys computer as my 11yr old is the one using it. We got it all installed and my son "dove right in".

He did find at first that it was a little confusing, but after a little help from myself and my husband, he really got into it and got the hang of it. He was able to complete 2 Chapters, 6 lessons, and he is LOVING it. He told me "Mom, I am really glad this program was created and that we have it. I like learning about computers in a easy way".

I basically self taught myself to use computers over the years, but I am finding the KidCoder Program to be "parent friendly" also. I played around with the program and it is very easy to use and LOTS of fun!

The things that I liked about the KidCoder Program:
  • Ease of installing and using the program
  • Student Textbook is very user friendly
  • Step by Step instructions that the program takes you through to complete each task
  • The ability to adapt to younger grades
  • The course can be used with multiple children
  • I really like the fact that the company was founded by Homeschool Parents
The things that I dislike about the KidCoder Program:
NOTHING. The program is GREAT as is!

Mosaic Review: Classical Historian: Ancient History Go Fish Game

I believe in "Fun Learning" and that is the "way we roll" many times in our homeschool journey. I was excited to be selected to use and review a new Fun, Learning Game from Classical Historian as part of my participation in the Mosaic Reviews Team. I was given a free Ancient History Go Fish game to use and review.

About the Game:
Four Games in One:

A. Go Fish

B. Collect the Cards

C. Chronology

D. Continents

This one deck of 50 cards with the answer key teaches the following skills through four fun games: Basic historical facts, Chronology, Geography, Association, and Social Skills required to follow the rules and play games with others. (taken from publishers site about product)

My Thoughts and Review:

The one thing my family enjoys is our Family Fun Night. Family Fun Night is usually every Friday night and we usually play board games or other Family Fun activities, while enjoying Homemade Pizza. We are 1/2 through our Ancient History curriculum, so this was a good fit for our family.

We all decided to do play a traditional "Go Fish" game first, for the advantage of the 9yr old, who due to vision issues, can't read YET. We used the Color Circles in the Left corner to "request" cards from others by saying "Do you have a Blue 4?" etc. We played many rounds like this and had a blast. My 9yr old teamed up with me when we played the "Collect the Cards" game, as it required reading. My boys liked that OK, although my 8yr old was like "Huh" to some of the cards. Some of the information wasn't familiar to him as we are only 1/2 way through Ancient History. The boys all LOVED the Chronology and Geography style games as it required "being the fastest". They all love trying to beat each other out in speed tests of all kinds, so they all LOVED both of these games. I even caught my 11yr old sneaking in a few games on a "rainy day" with his 8 yr old brother. My 11 yr old LOVES his computer games, for this is a GREAT thing!

Our family really enjoyed and will continue to enjoy the Ancient History Go Fish Game. I am very glad that we are able to have FUN and my boys are getting that extra "Learning" at the same time. I am sure we are going to find ways to "tweak" it to go along with the rest of our Ancient History studies and beyond. I really LOVE the thickness of the cards, it seems like they have a lamination coating on them. The cards are BRIGHT and colorful, the numbers and letters on each make it easy for the young ones to play along. I really like that the instructions are also written on cards, as having paper folded into card boxes is a tricky feat sometimes.

I give Ancient History Go Fish Game by Classical Historian 5 out of 5 stars!

More info about Classical Historian and the Go Fish Game:

The Go Fish Games comes in 3 Historical times: Ancient History, Medieval History and American History. Individual games sell for $11.95 each pack or you can buy the Bundle pack of all 3 games for $29.95

Mosaic Reviews: "How Do We Know God is Really There?" by Melissa Cain Travis (Apologia Product)

I really enjoy my boys and how "inquisitive" they are. My boys are always asking questions or questioning what they see or hear. I recently received a book "How Do we Know God is Really There? to enjoy with my family, as part of my participation in the Mosaic Review Team. Ohhh yeah, my boys interest was peaked!

About the Book:
Thomas and his father escape to their backyard tree house most evenings to watch the night sky through a telescope. Thomas is dazzled by what he sees of God’s creation, but he has questions. “Dad, how do we know God is out there?” he asks one night. “I know the Bible says He’s there. But how do we really know that’s true?” Together, Thomas and his father begin to examine the cosmological evidence for God’s existence. This is the first in an exciting new series of picture books designed to introduce kids to important questions of the Christian faith in terms even pre-readers can understand. Read this aloud with your family, and you’ll come away knowing that “the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1). (From the publishers website)

About the Author:

Melissa earned the Master of Arts in Science and Religion from Biola University, graduating with Highest Honors. She is certified in Christian Apologetics by Biola, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in general biology from Campbell University. She worked in biotechnology and pharmaceutical research for five years after obtaining her undergraduate degree, and has spent more than a decade studying the science, theology, and philosophy pertaining to the origins debate. She is the author of How Do We Know God is Really There? (Apologia Press, 2013), the first book in what will be known as the Young Defenders series,  a collection of illustrated storybooks that teach the fundamentals of Christian apologetics to young children. Melissa welcomes opportunities to speak and teach on issues related to science and faith. (From the author's website)

My Thoughts and Review:

My boys and I sat down and read the book together, although my 11yr old strayed away and didn't listen to the whole story. (I did catch my 11 yr old reading the entire book just last night) My 9yr old and 8yr old were very much into the story line, as the book is beautifully writen for "little minds" to understand the complexity of the topic. My 9yr old, who doesn't read yet due to vision issues, was very intrigued and "glued to" the pictures, which are just stunning or as my son put it "COOL". I really like how the book really is a "Father and Son" conversation where the Dad is explaining how God truly exists and shows him the "Evidence" of God's existence. I know my boys are in that age/stage where they are always wanting to grow and learn more about God, but sometimes I find it difficult to answer their questions in a manner that they understand. Melissa Cain Travis took a "complex" question that many parents get asked and helped answer it beautifully. "How do We Know God is Really There?" is the first in a the Young Defenders series, and I am excited to see more in the series as they are released!

The Hardcover book is very well made, perfect size for little hands or throwing in a bag to read on the road. The illustrations are outstanding, the look of them is almost like a Colored Pencil drawing, soft and light.  The book is priced at $16.00, which some might think is a little "out of budget" but it is priced well for the many uses that this book serves.

I give "How Do We Know God is Really There? 5 out of 5 stars.

Mosaic Reviews: My Home School Grades

I LOVE LOVE LOVE using online programs for everything. Calendar, Menu Planning, Household Organization, Communication, Homeschool programs. The one program that I haven't been able to find something of my liking was one for keeping track of my boys Homeschool Grades. I am not required to keep grades, but sometimes they like seeing how they are doing. THANKS to being a member of Mosaic Reviews, I think I have now found that program. I was asked to use and review My Home School Grades and it is soo easy to use and has all the facets of Record Keeping a homeschool family needs!

My Home School Grades was founded in 2012 by Homeschool Dad, John Echols and Homeschool Graduate, Jordan Shute. The 2 created this website to be a "one place for all your homeschool needs" for homeschool families. You can learn more about John, Jordan and the company HERE.

My Home School Grades is a very user friendly and easy to navigate.

The many "facets" of My Home School Grades:

Add a Student: Your membership allows you to track and grade all the students in your family. The "Add a Student" screen is so easy to use and allows you to select a different "Avatar" for each child. GREAT feature!

Add a Class: For each student you are able to add their class courses into their profile. It is as easy as clicking the "Add a Class" button on their profile page and then add the info requested in the screen that pops up. You can even add in your own curriculum and lesson plans or choose from the ever growing list of Publishers they have already added.

Edit a Class: You can also very easily Edit "Class info" if changes come up such Grade Change or Curriculum Change. Click on Edit class and the Class info screen comes up and you can change info as needed.

Add An Activity: Click on the Student and then near the bottom is a Tab that says "Acitivities" Go there and click the yellow "Add an Activity" button and screen pop ups with drop down menus to select and input the info and description of the Activity. No limit to the amount of activities! I really like this "facet" of My Home School Grades as many colleges look to see the different programs many students were involved in!

Transcript Creator: I know many parents struggle with creating a Transcript for their "Students", as creating Transcripts can be mind boggling and frustrating. My Home School Grades creates Transcripts very easily with the info you enter for each student. Once all the grades are entered it is as easy as clicking a button that says "Transcript" to generate the Official Transcript to be signed! I know that alone is a GREAT feature of this program.

The things I LOVE about My Home School Grades:

  • Ease of use
  • The creators have really covered everything needed for good record keeping
  • The drop down menus make filling in info fun and easy
  • The ability to change info as you go along and to input info Retroactively
  • All the GREAT "How To Videos" on their website. The program is pretty self explanitory, but the How To videos are wonderfully made and make it even easier to understand
  • The many different ways to contact support and receive support for the program
  • The ability to access it on the Go via the website via Laptop, Tablet, smartphone. (There are no "Apps" for the program as of yet, but you can access the website anywhere internet access is available. Data charges may apply if you access from a data plan)
A couple of suggestions for improvement:

A Family Calendar function:  Once activities are listed for each child a calendar would/could be created. The ability to print such a calendar would also be helpful. The ability to add additional Family Activities to the calendar would be awesome.

Email Reminders: The ability to add reminders to certain activities or all activities sent to the email registered to the account. Busy homeschool families write things down but we often forget. LOL

Does My Home School Grades sound like a program that you would use for your family or NEED for your family? You are problem thinking a program like this is going to be expensive and have monthly or yearly fees? Well you can have all that My Home School Grades has to offer for a cost of $49.99 for a LIFETIME membership!! YES you read that correctly, $49.99 gets you all this for a ONE TIME FEE!! My Home School Grades will also make sure that any updates that are done to the program will also be done to current accounts. Not sure yet if this is "the Program" for your family, you can sign up for a 14 Day FREE Trial, No Credit Card Required!

Mosaic Review: The WaterProof Bible

Are you an outdoor person who loves camping, hiking, or being near the water? Do you have a child going to camp this summer? Have you had "Accidents" while reading your bible and it got wet and ruined? Most bibles when wet the pages stick together and it takes forever to dry. Even when dried the pages are still in poor condition. I am such a "neat freak and Perfectionist" that I would rush out to buy a new one so it was in perfect condition again.

Well, I received a very awesome product recently as part of my participation in the Mosaic Review team. I received an ESV copy of the WaterProof Bible with New Testment, Psalms and Proverbs. My first impressions when I took it out of the mailing package were good. The pages and covers are made of a VERY durable material. I was amazed at how strong the pages felt and that when "Bent" they went right back to shape.

I am such a skeptic that it took me a while to even attempt to get it wet or soaked. My boys finally convinced me to "just get it done" and so we did. We just took it to the bathroom sink and my son soaked it, I was still too chicken to do it. We bought it out of the water and the water was just repelling off the Bible. The pages were turning and not sticking together. The water was just beading right off. I was amazed and overjoyed at the results of our test! We stood it up on it's end and it was completely dry within 10 minutes! The Waterproof Bible totally passed our test!!

Things I really liked about the Waterproof Bible:

  • Truly is waterproof!
  • VERY Durable! Durablity is key for me being a mom of 3 boys!
  • Small and compact. Fits in a purse or backpack to truly go ANYWHERE.
  • The Waterproof Bible has many different cover designs so there is something for everyone
  • Is suitable for All ages, kids to adults
  • The Ability to Highlight and Underline (the publisher recommends a BallPoint Pen, Pencil or Dry Highlighter)

Things I think need improving:

NOTHING  I really don't have anything negative to say about the WaterProof Bible.

More info about the WaterProof Bible:

The Story behind the Bible

I give the Waterproof Bible 5 out of 5 stars!! My oldest son has now claimed the copy I was given, which is fine because it is Camo Blue style! I am going to be purchasing me a Full Sized Version soon!
