Gabby Moms Review: For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn

"I just don't understand Men" is something I am constantly saying. I am sure many women say that also and that is why Shaunti Feldhahn has Revised and Updated her very popular books For Women Only and For Men Only. I recently was given a copy of both books as part of my participation in Gabby Moms program. I read For Women Only and now I have the "411" on this book!

About the Book:
Discover the Truth He Wants You to Know

The man in your life carries important feelings so deep inside he barely knows they’re there, much less how to talk about them. Yet your man genuinely wants you to “get” him—to understand his inner life, to know his fears and needs, to hear what he wishes he could tell you.

In her landmark bestseller, For Women Only, Shaunti Feldhahn reveals what every woman—single or married—needs to know. Based on rigorous research with thousands of men, Shaunti delivers one eye-opening revelation after another, including:
• Why your respect means more to him than your love.
• How he feels deep inside about his role as provider.
• What it means for a man to be so visually “wired.”
• Why sex for him is primarily emotional, not physical.
• What he most wishes he could say to you.

Now, in this expanded and updated edition, you’ll find insights from the latest brain research plus an all-new chapter that shows what’s really going on when he seems to “check out.” (You’ll be surprised and pleased.) And now there is a NEW companion video study pack which can be used in a group setting, individually or for mentoring or counseling.

Millions worldwide have experienced dramatic change in their relationships because of the “aha” moments and practical ideas in this little book. Discover how to love your man for who he really is. (from the author's website)

My Thoughts and Review:

I will be truthful that I get frustrated with the constant things that seem like "common sense" to me but doesn't click with my husband. I get a "bad attitude" when things are not clicking and in my opinion things are "not turning out how they should". Shaunti Feldhahn really does her research for this book(literally) and gets down to the "Nitty Gritty" of why Men are the way they are and how we as women can better understand them.

My personal favorite part of the book is the section of "6 Needs of Men":
  • Need 1:Respect His Judgement
  • Need 2:Respect His Abilities
  • Need 3:Respect What He Accomplishes
  • Need 4:Respect In Communication
  • Need 5:Respect in Public
  • Need 6:Respect in Our Assumptions
WOW!! Each of those NEEDS is EVERYTHING I struggle with in trying to understand my husband or let me be truthful in that I "am holding a wall up" to those areas. I know as I further digest this book I will "get it" and be able to break down those walls.

I really enjoyed all the surveys, studies and research that bought this book together. Shaunti Feldhahn does a WONDERFUL job at explaining to Women how to deeply understand men. I LOVED this book!

I give For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn 5 out of 5 stars.

Gabby Moms Review: Healing Hearts with Helping Hands

I am always at a loss for the "right words" to comfort those I know when they are grieving or going through "rough times". I want to be able to express myself without using the old "cliche" words of comfort. I tend to silence myself rather then reaching out. Well, THANKS to Lorrie Flem of Eternal Encouragement, I think I may now be able to be reach out and be a comforter.

Lorrie Flem recently released a 57 page Ebook(PDF Format) titled "Healing Hearts with Helping Hands". "Healing Hearts with Helping Hands" is packed full of info on helping those near and dear to you during their grieving process. 2 things that Lorrie says that really stood out to me are: "There is no right or wrong way to grieve" and also "There is no set timetable for grieving". I really believe this and that is why I am always at a loss for words or ideas to help along.I was really encouraged by the section in this Ebook that has "What to Say" and "What Not To Say".

"Healing Hearts with Helping Hands" is so much more then the Right or Wrong words to say. The title really says it all, it is about how we can tangibly help them through the grieving process. I really LOVE how Lorrie suggests reaching out by saying "I would really like to help by ___________". Too often many reach out by saying "Call me if you need me" and that really isn't very comforting and during a time of grief one, the grieving person is unlikely to ask for help. Cleaning, Babysitting, running errands, help with paperwork, are just a few ways to tangibly help.

I really LOVE how this Ebook really covers the many facets of Meal Giving Etiquette. Recipe ideas, Allergy considerations, age considerations, what to avoid, packaging and delivery and more are all covered in this ebook. I also really enjoyed the ideas for Gift Baskets and how to be an encouragement during the time before the passing if a prolonged illness. I really LOVE this ebook as a whole! Lots of info that I would have never given much thought to but so important during times of grief.

Do you ever feel like this could be a ministry for you? Are you someone who is always at a loss on how to comfort during times of grief? I know that you will gain much knowledge  and perspective from this Ebook as I did.

GREAT news you can order this ebook for $3.50 from Lorrie's online store. Even better news if you would like the Kindle version there is a sale coming up. May 1st-May 3rd will be available for .99¢!!! Get the Kindle Version HERE! No need to worry if you do not own a Kindle device as there are many ways to read Kindle books with the many different "apps" Kindle offers for FREE. Check out those options HERE! Gabby Moms Review: Bulk Cooking Tips 'n Tricks Ebook

Do you ever get overwhelmed with getting dinner or other meals prepared in a timely manner?? Is Menu Planning not something that you feel you can accomplish or have time for?? Have you ever tried Bulk Cooking??

I personally do both Menu Planning and Bulk Cooking. Bulk Cooking is similar to "Freezer Cooking" or "Once a Month Cooking".  Have you ever wanted to try Bulk Cooking, but don't know where or how to start? Well, I have a great ebook for you: Bulk Cooking Tips 'n Tricks Ebook by Lorrie Flem.

Lorrie Flem discusses the different methods of Bulk Cooking in this great Ebook(in PDF format). Some of the different Methods include:

  • Cooking many main meals in one day
  • Making and freezing one or two types of meals
  • Doubling recipes and freezing some for later
  • Supper Swaps (making multiples of the same recipe and having friends do different recipes and same amount.
  • Cooking and Freezing Meat and other food in bulk

Lorrie also shows the "How To's" of Freezing and has some suggestions for some of the best products to use. You will also find a great list of Sanity-Saving Tips and Tips for Bulk Eating(proper way to defrost and eat the frozen meals)

You are probably asking what are the benefits of Bulk Cooking. Lorrie goes over those also:

  • Saving Time
  • Saving Money
  • Saving Sanity
  • Saving Time for Ministry
  • Health
  • Variety
  • Happier Family

I have to agree with Lorrie on all her great info in this ebook! I do bulk cooking by choosing a couple of items each weekend and focusing on those. I LOVE the time saving factor of having meals or other foods ready for the family. I actually received a FoodSaver for Christmas 2011 from my parents and a couple months later purchased a 7cu Ft. Chest Freezer. I have been able to do much more Bulk Cooking since receiving those! Here are a couple of foods that I usually "bulk cook and freeze":

Waffles and French Toast

Homemade Chicken Nuggets
Have I peaked your interest for this ebook?? I have only given a small sampling of what is in the book. You can get your copy here for $5.97. You will want to get it as you won't be disappointed!

I would also like to highly suggest that you check out the Eternal Encouragement website and all the GREAT posts that Lorrie has. Eternal Encouragement has a Bi-Monthly FREE digital Magazine that has great articles and info.

Gabby Moms Review: Creating Contentment Seminar

Do you ever wish you could attend a 1 day seminar/workshop or even a weekend retreat to be encouraged? Are time and budget just not on your side to make that happen? Well, I am so excited to tell you all about a GREAT "Seminar" I had the oppurtunity to attend. I attended the seminar in the comfort of my own home and on my own time and the topic was very encouraging. Lorrie Flem of Eternal Encouragement is creating these Online Seminars and the one for February was Creating Contentment.

Contentment is something that I struggle with at times and I was really blessed by this seminar. How many of you "wish" for circumstances in your life to be different or ever "wish" for "material things" to be Happy?? The Creating Contentment seminar one that you will want to "Attend". The Seminar is about an hour long recording and is very encouraging. Lorrie talks about how God in control no matter the circumstances and if we can be grateful for what God is doing for us and look at what we do have and not at what others have and what we WANT we can find Contentment in those circumstances. Contentment is a choice, might not be an easy choice, but a choice we can make. Lorrie taught me that Contentment can bring happiness. I was very encouraged by this seminar as I sometimes "Envy" others which leads to unhappiness and stress. I don't want to have those feelings, contentment brings me joy!

The Creating Contentment Seminar is available online and right now you can buy it for $3.00!! You will receive a link to a PDF which contains the link for the Hour long Seminar and also a slideshow of the 14 different ways on creating contentment. The GREAT thing is you will always have access to the Seminar and can watch and listen on your own time and listen/watch over and over again. You don't have to clear your schedule to "attend", just when you have some time! Make sure you check out the Eternal Encouragement Website and all the other GREAT encouraging products and post Lorrie has for you. Also, coming up on March 15th you will be able to purchase Lorrie's newest Seminar True Womanhood is not for Wimpy Women.

I am looking forward to applying 14 GREAT tips for Creating Contentment to my daily life and I THANK Lorrie for the encouraging seminar!

Gabby Moms Review: Helping Hands at Home by Lorrie Flem

Do you ever feel like you need an "instruction manual" to be able to teach your kids how to do certain chores properly?? I know I certainly have because boys are so much harder to train to do chores. I was so excited that I was able to read, "put to the test" and review a wonderful ebook for Kindle by Lorrie Flem: Helping Hands at Home. The Kindle ebook is a 21 page, step by step guide for motivating and teaching your children how to clean the kitchen and bathroom.

I have always had the belief that children need to be trained how to properly do chores, not because "mommy's way is better", but it is one of the first opportunities for "job training". Performing a job correctly requires training and I believe "chores" are a very good beginning for teaching and training. Cleaning is not something that is "born" in you, it is something that has to be taught, even the small thing as using a broom and sweeping. I admittedly hadn't started training my boys to do the kitchen or bath, because it is so hard to get through to them about picking up their room. I was excited for this ebook as it really gave me hope!

I really like how Lorrie begins the book by saying Step 1 is motivation! We need to give our kids "Good motivation" and not in the way of rewards and bribery, but positive words that encourage them that they can do this. I also like that Lorrie gives us parents "motivation" and show us how this training works to our advantage by the time it saves us. Another section of the book that I loved was all the homemade cleaning products recipes. I have a few that I already use, but I found it helpful for those to be in the book. The entire guide is very easy to follow, wonderfully laid out and "to the point". My boys and I followed the guide and my boys are now "trained and ready" for helping in the home!

Are you interested yet?? You can get this book for Kindle for just .99¢: Amazon Kindle . The great thing is you don't have to own a kindle to get the ebook, you can download the FREE kindle apps to your phone, laptop or computer as I have done! A wonderful book at a budget friendly price!!

I also encourage you to check out Lorrie's website: Eternal Encouragement. You can get a FREE digital subscription of her amazing magazine and check out all the amazing products Lorrie has!

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this ebook as part of my participation in the Gabby Moms Program. I was only required to give an honest review. I received no other compsensation and all opinions are my own.
