Amish Christmas Escape
Title: Amish Christmas Escape
Series: Amish Country Justice #12
Author: Dana R. Lynn
Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense
Release Date: November 23, 2021
Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense

Hiding in Amish country may not be enough to save her…

In a killer’s sights after she witnesses her sister’s murder, Christy O’Malley’s only option is to flee to Amish country—and the estranged husband she left behind. But there’s something Sam Burkholder doesn’t know—they have a daughter. With enemies closing in, Sam will do anything to protect Christy and their little girl…but can he forgive the past for a chance to be a family for Christmas?

From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

I am not one who normally likes Suspense novels, but the LOVE Inspired Suspense series of books is a wonderful series. Amish Christmas Escape by Dana R. Lynn is Book 12 in the Amish Country Justice series. I have read a few titles in the series and each one is a great Standalone book.

Christy O’Malley is fearful for her life and that of her 5yr old daughter. She was a witness to her sister's murder and believes the Killer is coming after her next. She makes the decision to return to Amish Country, the life she left behind a few years ago and also to her estranged husband Sam Burkholder. Sam is shocked to find out he has a 5yr old daughter. He knows that protecting Christy and his daughter is the right thing to do. Although, he is also still feeling "left out" due to Christy leaving the Amish Community. Will Sam make the choice to forgive and protect his family before it is too late? Will there be a reconciliation between Sam and Christy?

WOW, another GREAT book in this series. I really like how Christy seeks the safe option of the Amish Community when her life is in danger. Sam is a very secure man and even though he was shocked by the news of a daughter, he knew he had to make decisions without holding grudges. The many twists and turns in this book really keep me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. The author does a GREAT job of being descriptive during the suspenseful parts. The Faith aspect of the book is also well read! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish Fiction, Suspense and Romance. FANTASTIC BOOK!

I really enjoy Historical Western Romance novels. Protecting Annie by Jodie Wolfe is Book 2 in the Burrton Springs Brides series. I have not read Book 1 in this series, but this book seemed to flow very well.

Joshua Walker took a job in small town Burrton Springs, Kansas as the town Sheriff. Annie McPherson recently moved to Burrton Springs after accepting the position as Schoolmarm. She is trying to leave her past in the past and adjust to her new life in the West. She is doing good, but keeps having "run-in" with Joshua Walker. The pair eventually develop a friendship and are helping one another through the adjustments of the West. Joshua is faced with some decisions when Annie's past comes to light. Will Joshua and Annie be able to have more then a friendship? How will the turn of events affect their lives in the West?

I was captivated from the VERY beginning of the book. I blocked all things around me out so that I could concentrate on reading the book from beginning to end, I accomplished my goal. I really enjoyed the 2 main characters, Joshua and Annie. The 2 are both settling into their new roles and lives with each others help. Although, Joshua was constantly annoying Annie in the beginning, they got past that. I really LOVE how once they both sought God and followed him, things really turned around for them. Protecting Annie is a book about Forgiveness, Faith, Moving forward, and Romance. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction Romance. GREAT BOOK!

More from Jodie

I’ve always been fond of reading mail-order bride books. Not that I would have ever had the courage to do something so brave. 🙂 But it’s fun writing and reading them. I also love perusing historical journal entries of women who decided to marry a complete stranger. Sometimes it worked out great, other times, not so much. In most cases, the heroine traveled across country to arrive in the west to meet her potential groom. Often they had no idea what each other looked like before they met for the first time. Not that looks matter.

At times the woman was given the opportunity to get to know the fella for a while before they actually married. Other times, they tied the knot as soon as the potential wife arrived at their destination. Some women fled desperate situations in the east, hoping for a better outcome only to find themselves embroiled in another bad position. All of the different scenarios I’ve read about helped to prime the pump for Protecting Annie.

In book one of my Burrton Springs Brides series, Taming Julia, I had the heroine’s brother, Josh set Jules (Julia) up as a mail-order bride. As I was writing that story, I knew it would be fun to change things up in book two and have Jules return the favor by ordering a mail-order bride for Josh. That’s the premise for this new story. Josh isn’t exactly thrilled to learn of his sister’s interference in his life and decision to remain single.

I hope you’ll enjoy the story of two unlikely people who are thrown together.
