I have been enjoying the Independence Islands series. One thing I especially like is that each book in the series is written by a variety of authors, and they all read well as Stand Alone Books. Blessings in the Bargain is Book 2 in the Breakers Head series. I am always anxiously awaiting new books in the series.
Four Friends set sail on the sea to test out a boat for sale. Courtney, Lex, Rafe, and his wife Annie all become stranded at Sea when their boat loses power in the midst of a storm. Lex was hesitant to take the boat out, to begin with, so when it becomes stranded he isn't all too happy. The hours turn into days stranded at sea and Lex and Courtney are beginning to get to know each other. Lex is trying to fight his attraction to Courtney as he is 2x older than her. He admires the fact that she is withstanding the storm and he also wants to protect her from the elements. Lex and Courtney continue to connect throughout their time at sea. Will the friends make it back to land safely? Will Lex and Courtney have a relationship?
WOW, this book is a page-turner from the first chapter. I was so intrigued by the Storyline that I finished the book in 4hrs. I really LOVE how Lex and Courtney opened up to each other about their past and their struggles in life. The author weaved faith into the book with the fact that God can turn bad things into Good. I look forward to the other books in this series! AMAZING BOOK!
