Could a captivating art exhibit hold the key to truth--and love?
Budding artist May Parker is captivated by the Japanese exhibits at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition and longs to know more about her mother's heritage--which her mother refuses to speak of because of the heartache she left behind in Japan. Wanting to experience more of the exhibits, May works as a Camera Girl--but her curiosity leads her into danger when a suit of samurai armor becomes the target of an elusive art forger.
After ten years apart, May is reunited with her childhood friend Lee Munro, a police detective assigned to keep a watchful eye on the exposition. Their friendship immediately begins to blossom with hints of something more, but when they become entangled in a dangerous heist involving the samurai armor and their love is threatened, can they overcome the odds against them?
Tracie Peterson has been a favorite author of mine for many years. I recently read Knowing You by Tracie Peterson, which is Book 3 in the Pictures of the Heart series.
The setting is 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo in Seattle. May Parker is an inspiring Artist and she is very intrigued by the latest exhibit Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. The Exhibit is one that aligns with her mother's Japanese Hertiage. May's Mom hasn't spoken much of her life in Japan after leaving there due to trauma in Japan. May is working as a Camera-Girl with the exhibit so she can experience the Exhibit all the time. Lee Munro, a police detective and childhood friend of May, is assigned to protect the Exhibit. May is happy to see Lee and excited that he is the Detective assigned to this exhibit. May and Lee see their friendship rekindle and they are both getting deeper feelings for one another. A Suit of Samurai Armor is stolen from the Exhibit and now May and Lee are in danger. Will May and Lee find the Suit of Sumurai Armore? Will they be safe and will there be a relationship between them?
WOW, this book has an intriguing Storyline and I was drawn into the book from the very first Chapter. May is Bi-Racial and has experienced racism throughout her life, including from her friend Lee's own family. The author spoke about Racism with sensitivity. I really LOVE that May and Lee are able to pick up their frienship like 10yrs had not just passed. Lee defends May to his family and it seems he would chose her over his family, LOVE that! The book is one of Faith, Romance, Frienship, and Drama. The book is part of a series, but reads well as a Stand Alone Book! It is a GREAT book for all who love Christian Historical Romance! WONDERFUL BOOK!
