Home for the holidays…
Or home for good?
Once upon a time, Ben Cooper left his hometown to follow his dreams of becoming a big-city doctor. Now he’s back to run his father’s clinic and spend Christmas with his daughter, not to fall for McKenzie Price, the woman who broke his heart. But when McKenzie steps in to help Ben reconnect with his little girl, and old sparks begin to ignite, will Ben give up city life for a second chance at love?
From Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.
I truly enjoy books under the LOVE Inspired brand as they are easy to read and usually a quick read. The Doctor's Christmas Dilemma by Danielle Thorne is the latest book in the LOVE Inspired brand that I have read.
Ben Cooper is a Big-City Doctor who has returned to his small hometown to help run his Father's Clinic. His Dad just had heart surgery and Dr. Ben is back home for the Christmas Season to spend time with his young daughter and work. McKenzie Price is Ben's Childhood Friend, but they had a falling out a few years ago. She enjoys her work at the Local Diner in their small town of Kudzu Creek and wants to stay in her small town. Ben's 6yr old daughter, Megan, is friends with McKenzie's niece, Bailey, so they keep running into each other all over town. The first couple of meetings are a little awkward, but they soon begin to realize that they would like that bond back. Ben's parents have been raising his Daughter while he has been the "Big City Doctor". He is considering staying in his Hometown as his friendship with McKenzie seems to be getting stronger again. Will Ben stay in Kudzu Creek or return to Chicago? Will there be a relationship between Ben and McKenzie?
I was reeled into this storyline from the very beginning. The Small Town Christmas theme is one that I truly enjoy all the time. Ben Cooper at first wasn't a favorite character due to him choosing his career over his daughter. I liked McKenzie Price from the moment she became a part of the storyline. She is hard working woman who also loves her family. Ben did change as I got deeper into the story and I began to respect and love his character. I LOVE who Ben and McKenzie begin to reconcile their friendship and it makes Ben rethink his career in the Big City. The book is one of Second Chances and Faith. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Romance. FANTASTIC BOOK!
