Historical Romance with Mystery is a favorite Genre of mine. Eyewitness Sketch by Danielle Grandinetti is Book 1 in the Di Stasio Giornaliste Agency. I have been excited about this series since I found out about it and very excited to have begun to read the series.

WOW. the storyline is just AMAZING and captured my interest immediately. The setting is Chicago and Door County, WI in 1931. The main characters are Gabriella Salatino and Andri Jóhannsson. Gabriella loves her job as an Illustrative Journalist and really enjoys life in Chicago. Gabby's life takes quite a turn when she is a witness to a Murder and then the threats to her life start coming. The decision is made to go into hiding and she heads back home to Door County, WI and to her longtime friend Andri. Andri is a Detective and has always been protective of Gabby Gabby and Andri had a relationship in the past and their friendship is solid. Andri ihas been investigating a case of Bootleggers and he has an idea to use Gabby's Talent as a Sketch Artist to help his investigation. Gabby is fearful that those who are threatening her will find her hiding place, yet Andri reassures her that she is safe under his watch. I LOVE how Andri and Gabby team up together to help and protect one another. I especially LOVE that they worked through their past to grow their relationship now. The story had many twists and turns and that is what keeps the readers interest. I HIGHLY recommend this book and I am looking forward to more in this series! GREAT BOOK!
