Dana Mentink has become one of my favorite authors. I have read quite a few of her books. Spoon to be Dead is Book 3 in her Shake Shop series.

This book takes us back to the town of Sprocket and Trinidad Jones Ice Cream Shop. Trinidad is worried about her upcoming first year of business with an Oregon Winter. She realizes that Winter time can mean slow business for a Shake Shop. She decides to offer Catering for Holiday Parties. Life gets turned upside down when her Ex-husband comes into the shop claiming he is being charged with Murder. Trinidad enlists the help of her fellow ex-wives,  Bonnie and Juliette, to try to solve this mystery that her ex has created. Will the 3 women solve the mystery and discover who murdered someone? Will the Shake Shop survive the first winter in Oregon?  

WHOA, this book is a definite page turner! Trinidad is such a wonderful character and I LOVE that she enjoys running the Shake Shop and is determined to not let sales slump! Bonnie and Juliette are amazing characters and I LOVE who all 3 ex-wives of the same man get along so well. The Characters of this book are "family" more then friends.  I thought I knew the outcome of the book, but I didn't figure it out correctly. The author does a great job at keeping the reader intrigued and on the edge of the seat reading. I really enjoyed this book and I am sad that this is the last book in the series! I HIGHLY recommend this entire series, Books 1 through 3!  COZY book and GREAT BOOK!

It’s Christmas time in Upper Sprocket and there’s a wedding in the works, but most surprising of all is the appearance of Gabe Bigley, the cheating ex of Trinidad and her two besties.
