A new to me author and a the 1st book in a New series, always intrigue me. The Promise Tree by Janalyn Voigt is Book 1 in the Montana Treasure Series. It is a Historical, Western Christian Romance book.
Liberty and Jake have been friends since childhood. Jake has always had a endured liking for Liberty. Liberty wants to marry a Man of God, but feels Jake doesn't portray the qualities of a Man of Faith. A new man, Beau, arrives in town and Jake feels Beau might steal the heart of Liberty and fears the "competition". He knows he has to try to forget how much he cares for and wants to be with Liberty. A turn of events land him in jail for something that he is innocent of. Liberty finds herself in a bit of a dilemma and Jake rides after her to help her out of the dilemma. The situation really tests Jake's faith. Will the situations at hand, bring Jake to be a Man of Faith? Will Jake win the heart of Liberty?
Janalyn Voigt has blown me away with her writing style. Historical Christian Fiction is one of my favorite genres and the setting of the West really made the setting of the book soo good. The characters have unique personalities. Liberty is very determined and set in her ways. Jake knows what he wants and is anxious to make things happen. He also has a sensitive side, which is rare in Men. I really like that the Christian Faith takes front and center for much of the book. I HIGHLY recommend this book for those who love Historical Christian Fiction. I am already excited about reading Book 2 in the series when it comes out!
