JustRead Tours Blog Blitz: The Lady's Triumph by Shelly Adina and R.E. Scott

The Lady's Triumph JustRead Blog + Review Blitz

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for The Lady's Triumph by Shelly Adina & R.E. Scott, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

The Lady's Triumph Title: The Lady's Triumph
Series: The Regent's Devices #3
Author: Shelley Adina and R.E. Scott
Publisher: Moonshell Books
Release Date: September 28, 2022
Genre: Regency Steampunk

Only one thing could be worse than Napoleon’s invasion of England…

After their daring adventures behind enemy lines in France, Loveday Penhale and Celeste Blanchard cannot settle into everyday life at home. Has the Tinkering Prince forgotten them entirely? What of the prize he promised? Then, with the flourish of a royal messenger’s hand, their lives are changed. Not only have they won the prize, they are to join the Prince’s Own Engineers in London!

They must overcome many a stone in the path, however—leave all they love, find a suitable house, and worst of all, cope with a chaperone—before they can take their rightful places among the most intelligent and forward-thinking minds in the kingdom. Their goal? To develop an airborne fleet that will end Napoleon’s dreams of conquering England forever.

But the saboteur who has been plaguing their efforts for months has not yet been caught. And along with battling for acceptance among the engineers, tiptoeing closer to falling in love, and receiving invitations to Almack’s, they must discover the traitor’s identity … before the Prince Regent steps forward to command the fleet and finds himself playing right into Napoleon’s hands.

Determined to see this new planet named George, Celeste and Emory headed up the stairs,
where a footman pointed them to the second flight into the top floor of the house. Several
couples had also abandoned the ball and stood waiting for a chance to look through the eyepiece
of the long brass telescope trained out the window.

Oblivious to the frigid air crawling in, Mr. Guelph was keeping an eye on his treasure. He
wiped down the eyepiece with a cloth after each guest and adjusted this dial and that level.

“Ah, Miss Aventure, Sir Emory,” he said as they stepped forward for their turn. “I thought
you’d make your way up here sooner or later. Couldn’t wait to catch a peek, what?”

“A decided attraction, sir,” Emory said. He stepped aside to let Celeste go first.

She bent to the eyepiece. In the night sky, stars popped into view, gleaming yellow and blue
and red like gemstones scattered on velvet. And there, that faint bluish haze, that was the planet?

“Amazing,” she said, straightening. “But you must speak with Loveday. She has made a
device that can see even farther.”

Their host’s brows rose. “Indeed. You can be sure I’ll discuss it with her at the first
opportunity. In fact—” He glanced around. The other couples had left. “Keep an eye on it for
me, will you?”

Emory didn’t have a moment to agree before Mr. Guelph barreled out.

“You will want to look,” Celeste told Emory in the quiet that followed.

“Why?” Emory asked. “The most beautiful sight of the night is standing right in front of me.”
He bent closer. Celeste raised her chin and closed her eyes, shivering in anticipation.

“Now, that’s a statement I might have to steal.”

Emory straightened, and Celeste could have wished Jacob Barnes to perdition. Leaning
against the doorjamb, their colleague grinned at them both, then sighed theatrically. “Ah, young
love. Truly a marvel.”

It would be a marvel, if it were only true.

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: As Silent as the Night by Danielle Grandinetti

Book: As Silent as the Night

Author: Danielle Grandinetti

Genre: Historical Romantic Suspense

Release date: September 13, 2022

He can procure anything, except his heart’s deepest wish. She might hold the key, if she’s not discovered first.

Chicago, 1933―Lucia Critelli will do anything for her ailing grandfather, including stand in a breadline to have enough food to make him a St. Nicholas Day meal. When she catches the eye of a goon who threatens her grandfather, she discovers the end of Prohibition doesn’t mean the end of the mafia’s criminal activity.

Retired Marine Scout Giosue “Gio” Vella can find anything, especially if it helps a fellow Italian immigrant, so he has no doubt he can locate his neighbor’s granddaughter, who has gone missing from a local church. Keeping her safe is another matter. Especially when he chooses to hide out with his Marine buddy in Eagle, Wisconsin, the site of a barely-held truce among striking dairy farmers.

Will Christmas bring the miracle they all need or will Gio discover there are some things even he can’t find, particularly when he stumbles upon the most elusive gift of all: love.

As Silent as the Night is the Christmas novella to To Stand in the Breach and A Strike to the Heart.

Historical Fiction has become one of my Top 3 Genres to read. As Silent as the Night by Danielle Grandinetti is one that I recently had the honor to read. It is a Christmas Novella that goes along with the other 2 books in the Strike to the Heart series, To Stand in the Breach and A Strike to the Heart.

The time is 1933 and the story happens in Chicago. Lucia Critelli has been taking care of her grandfather and that includes standing in the breadline to get food for him. Lucia knows that the Mafia is wanting to threaten her Grandfather and fears she is also being targeted by them. Gio is Lucia and her Grandfather's neighbor and he loves helping others. He decides to take Lucia to Eagle, Wisconsin. His family isn't very welcoming as they don't want to be Targeted by the Mafia also. They agree to let her hide out as they see how much Gio really wants to keep Lucia safe. Will Lucia be kept safe from the mobster Emberto? Will there be a Romantic Relationship between Gio and Lucia?

WOW, each book in this series just keeps getting better! I was captivated by the storyline from the first chapter and kept reading until I was done with the book.  The Great Depression time in Chicago was an interesting time, especially with the Mobsters in Chicago. I am actually a born and raised Chicago girl and even to this day, there are Family Members of Mobsters who live in the Chicago area.  I really love how the relationship between Gio and Lucia progressed slowly and I truly enjoyed their storyline. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction with Romance. WONDERFUL BOOK!

More from Danielle

I have this memory, from when I was a little girl, of Christmas at my grandma’s house. The table was expanded to hold a dozen people. The little Christmas tree stood on a table before the window, the Nativity beneath it. A gingerbread house sat on the radio cabinet, which played my grandpa’s old Christmas records.

In the kitchen, my Italian grandma, now a widow, had on a ruffled apron as she cooked the Christmas meal. She had short, graying black hair, perfectly curled, and large, round glasses. And, was still taller than me, though she was under 5 foot in height.

Through the haze of childhood memory, I can’t recall everything she cooked that Christmas, I just know it filled the table to overflowing. I can guess who celebrated with us, but I know the large table was completely surrounded by people I loved. And, I’m sure I received gifts, but that’s not what I remember from that day.

What fills my memory is the feeling of family and the love my grandma showed us, through food. My full belly. My contentment. The wonder of the holidays. All through the eyes of my young self.

In As Silent as the Night, I attempt to capture some of this nostalgia, lace it with suspense, and wrap it in romance. I show about some of the traditional holidays celebrated by my characters, from St. Nicholas Day to Christmas Eve. And, while Gio can find anything, love eludes him. However, Lucia may hold the key, but he must first save her.

Silent as the Night concludes my Strike to the Heart series, which began with prequel novella To Stand in the Breach. As sad as it is to say goodbye to the farmers of Eagle, Wisconsin, I have loved sharing the stories of Katy and Joey, Lily and Miles, and Gio and Lucia with you. I hope you’ll enjoy this last installment and I look forward to sharing more stories from other places with you.

Buon Natale.

Merry Christmas.

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Texas Wildflowers by Caryl McAdoo

Book: Texas Wildflowers

Author: Caryl McAdoo

Genre: Historical Christian Romance

Release date: September 3, 2022

Raise up your children in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will will not depart from it.
Getting them old is the key! Maisie Lowell and Rayne St. Laurent, both as beautiful as a wild Texas prairie rose, were born to privilege, reared in the fanciest hotel west of the Mississippi, and used to having their ways. In 1875 Dallas, Texas, the best friends determine to choose their own life paths to peace, love, and joy regardless of what their parents consider right or wrong. Do their choices and what their parents think have to be so different?

Click here to get your copy!

Caryl McAdoo is one of my favorite authors. Texas Wildflowers by Caryl McAdoo is Book 8 in the Cross Timbers Romance Family Saga. I have read several in this series, but I have not read them all.

The setting is 1875 in Dallas, Texas. Maisie Lowell and Rayne St. Laurent have been best friends since childhood. They have been raised by loving parents and born into privilege. Maise and Rayne have always dreamed of having a double wedding when they grew up. Rayne has always known she would want to marry Maise's brother, but he doesn't know that yet. Maise is having to choose between 2 different suitors. Maise's mother doesn't agree with her choice, but Maise believes now that she is an adult her choices for life should be her own. Who does Maise choose to be her lifelong suitor? Will Maise and Rayne have that double wedding with the men of their choosing?

I think this book has been my favorite in the series! I really like how Maise and Rayne have grown up to be independent young women. They were raised by wonderful parents who gave them guidance and love, but as adults, they see that they can make their own life decisions, especially Maise. Rayne and Baxter's story really warmed my heart and to see dreams come true for Rayne was just splendid. The book is filled with instances where Maise and Rayne are guided by God's will for their lives. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction. GREAT Book!

Award-winning author Caryl McAdoo prays her story brings God glory, and her best-selling stories—over sixty published—delight Christian readers around the world. The prolific writer also enjoys singing the new songs the Lord gives her; you may listen to a few on YouTube. Sharing four children and twenty-four grandsugars (six are greats), Caryl and her high-school-sweetheart-husband  of fifty-three years Ron live in the woods south of Clarksville, seat of Red River County in far Northeast Texas. The McAdoos wait expectantly for God to open the next door.

More from Caryl

As I write this, Texas wildflowers adorn hills and pastures and create beautiful ribbons along highways and byways! I love flowers! I love Texas! And I love Texas wildflowers! In my new novel by that name, the dear best friends, Maisie Lowell (Morgan and Charity’s third child and only daughter) and Rayne St. Laurent (daughter of Quincy, and stepdaughter of Priscilla, both of QUINCY & PRISCILLA fame) are growing up and becoming intensely interested in boys—or men as they see it.

It’s so fun when I think of it, because they are seventeen, and Ron and I were sixteen when we met and fell in love. Things are so different today. My oldest grandsugar-daughter married last year at the age of 30, and a grandsugar-son at the age of twenty-six. By then Ron and I had three children and eight years of marriage under our belts!

Isn’t it fun to think that only a hundred years ago, daughters were treasured and when men were ready to find a wife, they came courting, never spending any unchaperoned time alone with the young woman he wanted to get to know. My how things have changed as the Spirit of Anti-Christ is loosed in our world, and love, romance, and families have certainly suffered for it.

This is one reason why I love writing historical Christian Romance, telling tales of sweet and modest young girls with parents who watched and ruled over them until they married. At twenty-four or five, a young lady loomed close to being a spinster! I had so much fun with Maisie and Rayne in TEXAS WILDFLOWERS!

I think you will love them, too! TEXAS WILDFLOWERS is book eight in the Cross Timbers Romance Family Saga, and I believe you’ll enjoy books one through seven just as much! In all my books God is highly praised and ways for us to live abundant lives as He promises are included for readers.

My author’s motto is “Praying my story gives God glory!” If that doesn’t happen, I’ve failed my Father, but do I worry about that? I do not! God is on the throne and in control. He’s the one who gives me such wonderful, fun stories to share with you all! Enjoy TEXAS WILDFLOWERS and be blessed!

Anyway, we have been talking about writing this book for years, coming across little clues for the story in Scripture studies now and again over that time. At last, God released us to write THEN JUDGEMENT based on the twenty-seventh verse of Hebrews, nineth chapter: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

I love searching the scriptures and telling a story that strictly adheres to God’s Book, His Living Word, the Holy Bible. I love His stories and so understand that His Word is bread to our souls, feeding us wisdom and knowledge of our Creator and His everlasting, never-ending love for us!

Creating Biblical fiction tales carries a lot of responsibility that I truly enjoy taking on, being a guardian of the Truth. I love to bring characters from those days gone by so long ago to life on the pages of my books! I do feel a bit like John when he said this, writing of our Savior.

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” John 21:27

Biblical fiction could easily become my favorite genre—if it isn’t already. I do write more historical romance stories set in the 1800s (a favorite time period) in Texas (my favorite state)! And as much as I love that research . . . nothing compares to digging into the Word!

I pray you will enjoy living through the three days that Jesus did not spend in the tomb! May my story cause you to dig a little yourself, checking out our theory! I know this to be Truth: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Hallelujah! Glory be to His Holy Name! The righteous run into it and are saved! There is no one like unto Him! He alone it the Great King over all the earth! Worthy to receive glory and praise!

As always, I’m ‘Praying my story gives God glory!’

Blessings, y’all!

JustRead Tours Blog Tour: His Small Town Dream by Tara Randel

His Small Town Dream JustRead Blog + Review Tour

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for His Small Town Dream by Tara Randel, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

His Small Town Dream Title: His Small Town Dream
Series: The Golden Matchmakers Club #3
Author: Tara Randel
Publisher: Harlequin Heartwarming
Release Date: August 23, 2022
Genre: Contemporary Romance (Sweet/Clean)

This city girl…

Could be his perfect match!
Adam Wright is ready to stop nursing his broken heart and give in to his family’s matchmaking. He knows lively marketing exec Carrie Mitchell wants to return to New York, but he’s showing her all small-town Golden has to offer…including himself. When his ex-fiancée arrives, it could scare Carrie away, or it may be a chance to heal past hurts…and share his small-town dream with her!

I really enjoy Clean Romance books. The Harlequin Heartwarming series of books is a great fit for that genre. The latest book I have read is His Small Town Dream by Tara Randel, Book 3 in The Golden Matchmakers Club series. Tara Randel is new to me author and after reading this book, I am searching for other books by Tara Randel.

Adam Wright is ready for a new relationship, after going through a rough breakup. He had been working and living in New York City for several years but has returned to Golden, Georgia, his hometown.  Carrie Mitchell has moved to Golden, Georgia from New York City for a job opportunity. Adam and Carrie are introduced to each other at a local gathering and then they begin running into each other in the morning at the local coffee shop. A friendship blossoms and Adam feels himself really liking Carrie. Adam knows that Carrie really wants to go back to New York City, but he wants to make sure she enjoys Small Town Living. Adam's ex-fiancée comes to town and Adam hopes that she won't deter Carrie. Will Adam and Carrie continue living in Small Town Golden, Georgia? Will they both be able to heal from past relationships and have a relationship?

I LOVED this book from the very first chapter. Adam is a laid-back, strong, hardworking caring man. Carrie is a high-energy, career-focused City Girl. I really like that they both had people from their past come back into their lives. It was then that they both realized that they could have a future together and decisions are made. This book is one about Healing from the past and making life choices and decisions. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Clean Romance books. EXCELLENT BOOK!

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Where You Are & How to Get There by Nolan Ryan Recker

Book: Where You Are & How to Get There

Author: Nolan Ryan Recker

Genre: Lifestyle

Release date: August 4, 2022

Have you ever had the thought or asked yourself the question, “How did I get here?”

You know, the kind of question examining the indirect decisions and circumstances that led you to the point life that you even need to ask such a question.

One of the oldest questions ever recorded in human history speaks to this very question we ask ourselves in moments of doubt. What if that ancient question was a question we ought to ask ourselves on a regular basis?

Journey with me as we wrestle with a question that if meant for us, today, would change everything about we view the life we choose to live.

Click here to get your copy!

I really enjoy Non-Fiction Christian help books. I recently came across a book that had an interesting synopsis. Where You Are & How To Get There by Nolan Ryan Recker is the latest Non-Fiction Book that I have read.

Life takes us in many directions and there may come a time when we are asking ourselves "How Did I Get Here?" "Where am I going in life?" Many times throughout life we go through changes, sometimes without realizing the changes going on. We all seek to be the best we can and so we question ourselves about how we are doing in life and whether are we going in the right direction. Using the Biblical story of the Prodigal Son, the author shows how life can change and be redirected through Scripture and trusting God for direction.

I really enjoyed this book. I will admit it took a couple of chapters to really understand the Author and his writing style, but once I connected to the book, I really got a lot from it. Life is Journey that is ever-changing. We all have a purpose in this journey and the wisdom from this book is a good guide. I feel this book would be GREAT for a Bible Study with a group or individuals. I Highly recommend this book. Encouraging Book!

Nolan’s toughest and rewarding opportunities are being a husband and a father. As a husband and a father, Nolan wants his family members to discover and live a flourishing life. Nolan’s life experience has covered the spectrum from being a camp counselor to a school teacher to a custodian to a Lead Pastor of a church. This, is why he writes. If he wrestles with the ideas he writes about, maybe others wrestle with the same things, and if they do, would they benefit from a different perspective? He’s honored to listen to anyone who graces him with their time to tell their story; especially if it involves coffee or pizza.

More from Nolan

Hi there! The name’s Nolan & I love this book.

Seriously, it was a labor of love.

Sometimes writing for the sake of the enjoyment and scrutiny of others can lead to some pretty sad writing days. One of my favorite writers recently said something along these lines, “Sometimes, writing is opening up a blank word processor, staring at it for eight hours, closing the processor, and not writing a thing. It still counts!”

For me, I used to seek perfection in much of what I attempted to do. I wouldn’t try something if the odds weren’t favorable. It wasn’t until I learned that life is a lot like staring at a blank word processor. Even though I didn’t accomplish anything on a specific day or season of life, the fact that I showed up is what counts.

Learning to live life in this way. Discovering rhythms of creating, rest, consuming, pain, work, play, purpose, and my people; helped me to rediscover a life-story worth living.

A life-story worth writing.

I am so many things and wear so many different “hats,” but first and foremost, I am a loved human being, created in the Image of a loving and creative God.

I enjoy being a husband and a father.

I love the passion of writing.

When something comes together, there is no greater treasure than to put something into the world that brightens someone else’s experience of this life.

Wearing the “hats” of Pastor, Teacher, Coach, Friend, Advocate, etc. time and I again I would have conversations with people regarding the very things you will read in “Where You Are & How To Get There.”

We are all on this life journey together, and I am glad to journey on with all of you.
