This led to her arrest and suffering in prison and concentration camps--as told in her bestselling book The Hiding Place. I have always been a fan of Corrie Ten Boom's writings and her life story. She is a courageous woman who really taught so many readers so much. I also LOVE Devotional Books and therefore was excited to read this book.

God is My Hiding Place is a compilation of Corrie Ten Boom's writings and they are laid out into a devotional book. The Devotional has 40 Devotional readings. Each Devotional begins with a Scripture Reading, then includes a Writing a Corrie Ten Boom's and ends with a Prayer. the Devotionals are about 3 pages long.

I really enjoyed this Devotional Book. The Devotionals are short, but they sure are packed with Scripture and writings that touch your heart and make you reflect on your own Christian Life. The Devotional book is laid out in an easy to read format. I was VERY encouraged by this Devotional, even after reading many of Corrie Ten Boom's writings in her other books. Momentum Influencers: PureFlix Series- Sons of Thunder Redemption

I have been a user of PureFlix Streaming Service for a long while. The main thing I enjoy about PureFlix is the Family Friendly Programming. Our family has been currently enjoying the PureFlix Original Series: Sons of Thunder. Sons of Thunder is a show featuring Combat vet Simon who motorcycles across the country, working odd jobs, helping those God puts in his path, and trying to atone for past sins in a biker club. I am not usually one who enjoys "Bikers and Motorcycles" but this show is soo different and intriguing, I am HOOKED!

Check out the Trailer below:

A Spinoff Coming Soon:

PureFlix is releasing a SpinOff of the show on January 13th, 2022. The new show will be Sons of Thunder: Redemption. This new show follows Jacob, fresh out of prison for crimes he committed for the biker club. But his stint behind bars was freeing for his soul because of an encounter with fan-favorite, Simon.

Thoughts from the Producers of the Spinoff:
“We took this opportunity to expand the world of ‘Sons of Thunder’ and create a spinoff that was true to the heart of the original, but takes fans on a brand new adventure,” said executive producer Anna Zielinksi. “This spinoff will focus on former Devil’s Hand member, Jacob Lewis, who is fresh off a stint in prison and searching for forgiveness from those he wronged in a past life fueled by drugs and bad decisions. We’re really excited to see how fans react!”

Watch the Trailer of the Sons of Thunder: Redemption:

I am looking forward to the Release of the Spinoff. If you would like to watch Sons of Thunder before the Spinoff release, you can get a 1 Week Free Trial HERE

PureFlix is filled with Family Friendly, Faith Based Programming! I really like the Original Series they produce exclusively for PureFlix. A Great Streaming Service!

Christian Historical Fiction genre is always an interesting genre to read. Shannon McNear has written Elinor, a fictional account of the Lost Colony of Roanoke, VA. Shannon McNear is a new to me author and that also was a reason for my interest in reading this book.

We are taken back to 1587 in the Colonial times. Elinor White Dare has traveled from England to the New World and does so pregnant with her first Child. She arrives with her husband, Ananias, to the New World with promises of a good life. She finds herself alone and without basic needs in the New World. Will Elinor and Ananias survive to tell the story of the Lost Colony of Roanoke?

WOW, the author clearly has done her research for writing of this book. I was captivated from the first chapter. The story of the New World and what might have happened to the Lost Colony was absolutely mind blowing in a good way. The book is fictional, but the author does a GREAT job at bringing the story to life. I also appreciate that the characters rely on their Faith to help them through the challenges in the New World. The book is filled with lots of twists and turns and kept me reading the book until I finished! I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction. Elinor is the first book in the series, "Daughters of The Lost Colony 1587" and I am looking forward to more books in this series. FANTASTIC BOOK!

Transplanted to North Dakota after more than two decades in Charleston, South Carolina, Shannon McNear loves losing herself in local history. She’s a military wife, mom of eight, mother-in-law of three, grammie of two, and a member of ACFW and RWA. Her first novella, Defending Truth in A Pioneer Christmas Collection, was a 2014 RITA® finalist. When she’s not sewing, researching, or leaking story from her fingertips, she enjoys being outdoors, basking in the beauty of the northern prairies. Connect with her at www.shannonmcnear.com, or on Facebook and Goodreads.

More from Shannon

Why did I write this story? Well, God shoved the opportunity under my nose, and I didn’t want to be guilty of taking the easy way out, by saying no. 😊

Really, while the concept was fascinating, the execution was daunting, and sometimes terrifying. The Elizabethan Era—before the King James Bible and even before Shakespeare was popular! As a student of the Revolutionary War and surrounding times, I felt very much out of my depth.

Though the research sucked me in, it was also daunting. Sifting through various interpretations of the primary accounts and their own speculations on why they felt things must have gone a certain way. Trying to “find” my story amongst all the theories and opinions. Above all, getting to know my characters and letting them come alive in my own imagination.

And come alive, they did—in full color, with a vividness I did not expect. I hope I was able to translate even a portion of what I envisioned to the page, so that you also can see them!

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Broken Together by Brenda S. Anderson and Sarah s. Anderson

Book: Broken Together

Authors: Brenda S. Anderson & Sarah S Anderson

Genre: Christian Women’s Fiction

Release date: December 1, 2021

How do you persevere when you have no more will to fight?

Jennifer and Chad Taylor had dreamed of opening a coffee and cocoa shop since before they said, “I do.” When Chad is sent to prison for murder despite claiming innocence, that dream—along with their family—is shattered.

After years of fighting for Chad’s release, Jennifer finally breaks free from her shame, anger, and hopelessness, and forges ahead with the dream the two of them once shared. With the help of their college-aged twins, she begins to move forward.

Without Chad.

When their lawyer arrives with news of evidence that may prove Chad’s innocence, a strange mixture of emotions overtakes her. Does she want Chad to return home? He isn’t the same man he once was, and she certainly isn’t the same woman. She’s worked hard to piece the remnants of their family back together, and his coming home could fracture the family once again.

It all comes down to one question. She loves her husband enough to fight for his release from prison, but does she love him enough to fight for their marriage?

Click here to get your copy!

Brenda and Sarah Anderson are "new to me authors". I was very intrigued by the synopsis of the book and that the book was written by a Mother and Daughter.

Jennifer and Chad Taylor had dreams of opening a Coffee Shop together. Chad is in prison on charges he is innocent of. Jennifer decides to go ahead and open the Coffee Shop with her older children, while Chad is in prison. Jennifer has always hoped Chad would be released from Prison on these charges. As the day draws near that he might be released, Jennifer is unsure of where she wants her relationship to be with Chad. Will Jennifer have Chad come back home and their marriage be safe? Will Chad be OK that the Coffee Shop was opened during this absence?

WOW, what a powerful storyline. I was hooked onto the storyline from the very first chapter. I couldn't put the book down until I finished the book. I really like how the Authors really connected the storyline to what could be real life events. Though the book is fiction is reads like real life. This is a book about Redemption, leaning on God during Life Challenges, and finding hope. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone looking for a book on Life's Encouragement. WONDERFUL BOOK!

Brenda S. Anderson writes authentic, gritty, life-affirming fiction that shows God at work in people’s messy lives. She enjoys live music and theater, walking the shores of Lake Superior, and sharing hot cocoa with friends and family. She lives near Minneapolis with her newly retired husband. Together, they plan to travel across the United States, checking items off their bucket list, beginning with a bus trip to Niagara Falls.

Readers can learn more about Brenda S. Anderson at www.brendaandersonbooks.com

A former barista, Sarah S. Anderson loves all things coffee, so when her mother asked her to help with a book set in a coffee shop, the answer was an enthusiastic “Yes!” When not creating imaginary coffee shops, Sarah spends much of her time at the theater, either on stage acting, singing, and dancing, or offstage as musical director. She lives near the heart of Minneapolis with her two cuddly kitties.

More from Brenda

Why I Wrote Broken Together

Years ago, I watched a late-night interview with a woman who’d fought to free her husband from prison, and she finally won that fight. Near the end of the show, when the interviewer asked how she and her husband were doing now, she replied that they were divorced. It shocked me that she’d fought so hard for him, but then couldn’t hold their marriage together. I knew then that I needed to explore, through fiction, how that could happen.

I’d put off the idea for years, fearing the topic was larger than I could handle, but the story kept pushing its way through.

My daughter, Sarah, and I had often talked about writing a story together, one that would be set in a coffee and cocoa shop, and Broken Together seemed to be the perfect match. As a former barista, Sarah brought the coffee expertise to the story. As a non-coffee drinker, I insisted equal billing for non-coffee beverages.

Then the legal director for the Great Northern Innocence Project graciously offered to walk me through the many the legal hoops someone has to go through to be released once evidence is found.

With her help, I could no longer avoid writing Jenn and Chad’s story. It was a difficult one to write, but it’s also a story filled with hope.

Chad’s Choco-Latte Recipe

Ingredients

2 shots of espresso

3/4 cup whole milk

3 tablespoons of milk chocolate (chips or sauce)

2 tablespoons English toffee sauce (Chad’s secret recipe)

Whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Steam milk with chocolate chips or sauce to 150°F
  2. Pull 2 espresso shots (Make sure your shots don’t sit longer than 20 seconds or they will expire!)
  3. Add English toffee sauce to the bottom of your cup or mug
  4. Add espresso shots to your toffee sauce
  5. Pour steamed milk into your cup or mug, making sure the milk hits the far side of your mug to help incorporate the ingredients
  6. Stir if needed
  7. Top with whipped cream and extra English toffee sauce if desired

JustRead Tours Blog Tour: His Road to Redemption by Lisa Jordan

His Road to Redemption JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for His Road to Redemption by Lisa Jordan, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

His Road to Redemption
Title: His Road to Redemption
Series: Holland Brothers
Author: Lisa Jordan
Publisher: Love Inspired
Release Date: December 28, 2021
Genre: Contemporary Christian romance

A veteran in need of a fresh start
will get more than he bargained for…

Veteran Micah Holland's scars go deeper than anyone knows. An inheritance from his mentor could be a new beginning—if he shares the inherited goat farm with fiercely independent Paige Watson. Now the only way they can keep the farm is to work together. But first Micah must prove he's a changed man to keep his dream and the woman he's falling for.

LOVE Inspired books are a favorite Series of mine to read. I have read so many books in the LOVE Inspired series and I have specifically read a few of Lisa Jordan's books. I most recently read His Road to Redemption by Lisa Jordan, which is part of the Holland Brothers Series.

Micah Holland has served time in the Armed Services. He is excited to learn that he has inherited a Goat Farm. Although, his excitement is short lived when he learns he must share his inheritance with Paige Watson. He really wants to be able to keep the Goat Farm, as he believes it can bring new beginnings for him. He must learn to work with Paige and abide by the terms of the Will left by his Mentor. Paige Watson is an independent woman and also wants to keep the farm. Will Paige and Micah be able to overcome and work together? Will the Goat Farm inheritance bring 2 people together and will there be a LOVE connection also?

I truly LOVED this book from the very first page and chapter. Having served in the Armed Forces, Micah was suffering from being an amputee, but he also had other scars and "battle wounds" to conquer. He felt honored when he inherited the Goat Farm and he had a great outlook for his own mental stability. I LOVE how Micah and Paige were put together in a situation that neither were 100% familiar with, but they were both excited about being owners of a Goat Farm. The relationship between Micah and Paige definitely changed and matured throughout the book and it was a joy to read about their relationship changes. The book is one of Second Chances, lessons in overcoming challenges. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who loves SHORT and Easy reads and Christian Romance. GREAT BOOK!
