Can Scrooge find love from a friendship gone cold?

Sanford Stone cut ties with his best friend, Natalie, in favor of the love of his life … a woman who ended up walking out on him just before Christmas. Six years later, Sanford can’t bring himself to celebrate Christ’s birth with any joy. Little does he know, his grandmother and her companions have dubbed him the Scrooge and intend to help him overcome his bitterness and find happiness again.

Reading a Christmas themed book in July? But of Course!! I really enjoy celebrating Christmas in July with books and movies, so I was excited to read Project Scrooge by A.M. Heath.

Sanford Stone does not enjoy celebrating Christmas any more. The woman he loved walked away from their relationship right before Christmas, so his joy for the Christmas Season is gone. Natalie Dunivan was a GREAT friend of Sanford's, but he abandoned their friendship when he was in a relationship. 6yrs have gone by and Natalie is seeing how his joy has escaped him and it hurts her that he is hurting. Sanford's family adores Natalie and they would LOVE to see the 2 become more then friends. Natalie and Sanford's Grandma come up with an idea to reach out to Sanford. Sanford's Grandma suggests to him that he should do a 31 Day Celebration of Christmas to see if it brings the joy back. He agrees, although he wasn't expecting Natalie to be part of those Celebrations. He isn't sure how to react to seeing Natalie again. Will Sanford find joy in his life again? Does that joy come from renewing a Friendship/Relationship with Natalie?

Project Scrooge is a wonderful story of Forgiveness, joyfulness and finding the true meaning of Celebrating Christmas. Natalie is such a caring and loving person. Sanford thought his life was destroyed, until he realizes the love that he lost by abandoning the friendship with Natalie during his defunct relationship. My heart melted at how his family bought Natalie and Sanford together again. GREAT Story and Book! I highly recommend it for those who enjoy a sweet Christmas LOVE story!

Besides being an Indie Author, I’m a wife, mother of four, ladies’ Sunday School teacher, sweet tea drinker, history fanatic, romantic, bubbly, lover of broccoli, and a retired cake decorator who has a soft spot for Christmas trees, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What I’m not is a laundress (or at least not one who keeps up very well), a duster, tall, or patient in a doctor’s office.

Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipes

It’s plenty hot outside but it’s just the right temperature for a tall glass of frozen hot chocolate!

Throughout Project Scrooge, Ms. Carol serves up a new cocoa recipe every day in December. So there was no better way introduce you to the cozy world of Garland, Tennessee and Ms. Carol’s cheery kitchen than by offering you two frozen hot chocolate variations. These are so easy and you likely have the ingredients already in your home.

Frozen Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

¾ cup of milk

3 Tb sugar

2 ½ Tb unsweetened cocoa powder

1 Tb creamy peanut butter

2 cups of ice

Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

¾ cup of milk

2 Tb sugar

2 ½ Tb unsweetened cocoa powder

1 Tb caramel sauce

pinch of salt

2 cups of ice

No matter which recipe you use, the directions are the same.

Directions:

Blend until ice is broken down. Enjoy! Sharing is optional. ;)

The Independence Islands Series has become one of my favorite series of all time. Regaining Mercy by Carolyn Miller is Book 6 for Elnora Island stories. I have read a few of the other book featuring Elnora Island.

Mindy Murray is a single mom to a 4yr old son. She is trying really hard to make a life for her and her son. She is being bullied by the older members of her community because she appeared on a reality show, Love at First Glance. She admits she did the show for the compensation that she received to help support her son. Dermott Reilly, a friend of her brother, steps in and sticks up for Mindy. Dermott really has a soft spot for Mindy and has taken a liking to her. His concern though is her Spiritual lacking. Mindy admits she was turned off to the church due to Church folk chastising her for being a Single Mom. Dermott sees how much she LOVES her son and that she will do whatever she can for her son. Will Mindy come back to the Church and to God? Does Dermott have a chance at a relationship with Mindy? Will Mindy gain back confidence in herself and others?

WOW, what an AMAZING storyline. Mindy is a strong mom who will do anything for her son. Dermott has a strong faith and is kind and loving man. I really like how Dermott really makes it a priority to be with someone of Faith. Mindy is lacking trust in others, but throughout the story grows stronger. A WONDERFUL BOOK!

Carolyn Miller is an Australian author of inspirational romance, particularly that of the Regency era, and loves drawing readers into fictional worlds where flawed people can grow in faith, hope and love through stories that show the truth of God’s grace in our lives.

I really enjoy reading books that are a part of a series. Rocky Mountain Restoration is the third book in the Rocky Mountain Revival series by Lisa J. Flickinger. I have read the first 2 books in the series and was excited to read this newest book.

Josephine Thorebourne is on a Voyage up the Canadian East Coast when she learns of a HUGE loss of Family Money. Josephine had taken the family's money in hopes of making a profit from it, but it turns into a LOSS. She seeks comfort from someone who she feels she can trust fully, only to find out he is an impostor. She realizes she must return home and face the consequences of her actions. Owen Kelly is a Steward on the SS Jameson, the same Steamship that Josephine is on for her voyage. Owen finds himself attracted to Josephine and they begin a friendship. Owen has dreamed of working on a Steamship since his childhood on the streets of Chicago. Josephine and Owen have a growing relationship. Will Josephine return home to "face the music and will her family forgive her?" Will Owen give up his lifelong dream and go with her?

I must admit, it took me a bit to really get into the storyline. Once the story "clicked" with me I REALLY enjoyed reading about Josephine and Owen and all the mystery of their voyage and Josephine's Troubles. Josephine is filled with regret for her betrayal to her family. Owen is a great comforter and he really enjoys being in the company of Josephine. GREAT BOOK!

Have you ever smelled a whale’s breath? I have. The experience sparked the idea of taking the characters in Rocky Mountain Restoration on a pleasure cruise up the Canadian coast.

My husband and I vacationed in Ucluelet one summer, a quaint fishing village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. While there, we boarded a cabin cruiser with other adventure seekers to go whale watching.

Not long after leaving the rocky shore, our experienced captain spotted the flick of a tale in the rolling waves, and guided the boat to a position hundreds of yards away. Within moments, to our delight and awe, a massive humpback breached mere feet from the boat. Its knobbed head rose before us, mouth wide open, hundreds of baleen plates dripping a murky red. The smell was one of the worst in my memory, a vulgar mixture of rotten fish, old road kill, and something indescribable. But what a privilege to encounter one of God’s magnificent creatures up close!

A logging camp, high in the Rockies, is a long way from the pacific coast. That’s the very reason our nefarious antagonists from book one of the Rocky Mountain Revival Series, Josephine and Snoop, have chosen to board the SS Jameson under assumed names.

While I can’t promise you whale’s breath in the novel, I can promise you gorgeous scenery and other wildlife encounters as a backdrop for betrayal, thievery, and—of course—romance. Hop aboard!
