Christian Romance is a favorite genre of mine. Nancy J. Farrier is a new to me author. The book synopsis really blew me away and I really wanted to read the book.

Asia Jessup is looking for a "Fresh Start" at life. She just served time in Prisonand has no family or nowhere to go, so she returns to a town where she spent a couple of Summers as a teen. Asia is a new Christian and she feels God is guiding her to a Fresh Start. She arrives to the town and discovers the town Restaurant Owner is Ian Kittridge, someone she helped in his teen years. Ianruns into Asia and is excited she is back in town. He has been working hard to keep his life on track and is not sure if Asia will "relapse" and would he fall also. Asia and Ian both have troubled pasts and both are working hard at a Fresh Start and keeping things good in life. Can Ian and Asia help each other stay on the right path in life? Can they forgive the past and will there be a good future as a couple?

WOW, this book really is Fascinating and Intriguing. It is also a book about

hope and forgiveness. A Page turner book from the very first page. I really

enjoyed this book and I believe readers of Christian Romance will enjoy it

as much as I do!

Nancy J Farrier is a best-selling, award winning author of over twenty-five books. Nancy has written both historical and contemporary fiction, as well as nonfiction for the Christian market. Her Southwest fiction is filled with characters who face real life issues, which she hopes will encourage her readers. From the moment I first pictured Asia standing across from that quilt shop, I knew I had to tell her story. She carried so much emotional baggage and such longing, but I didn’t know why. Going on that journey to find where she’d come from and why she was here at this place, in this moment, was such a rollercoaster ride.

Exploring the theme of family and how our families impact our past proved both exhilarating and painful. I remember hearing a man say he couldn’t help being the way he was because of his father’s influence. That man was a Christian. My first thought was that he has a new Father and he is to be like Christ. Like God.

This is why both Ian and Asia struggle with the concept of having a parent they were compared to in an unflattering light. Ian couldn’t change what his father did, he could only make his own choices and be a different person. To be like Father, like son. Asia, too, had people assume she would be her mother’s daughter, but she wasn’t. Her choice was to live a different life, despite pressure to be as immoral as her mother.

Our choices are what make us who we are. How we choose to live. How we choose to forgive. How we choose to love. And Who we choose to love and follow.

Exploring these themes in Matching Points kept me on my toes. Seeing Asia and Ian work out their choices and their journey proved exhilarating. I hope my readers find encouragement in the pages of this book and the lives of the characters.

The book cover and Synopsis were intriguing enough for me to want to read Rocky Mountain Revelation by Lisa J. Flickinger I am very glad I did, as it is a very enjoyable book.

Madeline Lamb, recently widowed and carrying a baby, sets out to start a

new chapter in life. She soon gets a job at a Rocky Mountain Logging Campas a Cook's Helper. She believes she can find a new husband amongst theLoggers at Camp. Will Matheson is working hard and climbing the ranks amongst the Loggers. His boss suddenly takes him from working the Logsto working in the camp doing chores. He isn't pleased about this new job, untilhe meets Madeline. Will there be a LOVE connection between Madeline and Will? Can Will become the husband and father to her baby that she is desiring to find?

I really enjoyed this book from the very beginning. The interactions between Madeline and Will and their budding relationship is very intriguing. The settingof the Rocky Mountains and Logging Camp are really neat, as I really enjoyNature and Outdoors and Log Cabins. Rocky Mountain Revelation is Book #2 in Rocky Mountain Revival series, but this book reads great as a Standalone. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who loves Christian Fiction Romance.

When I research a new novel, I love to find obscure facts about the setting. My study of the old time river drives for Rocky Mountain Revelation led me to a particularly tasty morsel. The river crews were served massive amounts of food over four meals to make up for all the energy expended transporting logs in the frigid water. Often, their meals included donuts.

Yes, donuts! However, we’re not talking about the scrumptious treat picked up at your local bakery or grocery store. These donuts were cooked over an open fire in the backwoods. Yum.

Picture what they call a tin kitchen, a small boxy metal contraption, set over a blazing fire. The cook would place a wide mouthed aluminum basin on top and fill it with cooking oil. When the oil reached the perfect temperature he would drop the batter into the oil using a ladle. The piping hot donuts would be rolled in sugar when they were cooked and served to the crew fresh from the fire. A half whiskey barrel of donuts could disappear in just one meal. Several times a day, the cook would travel downstream by raft and repeat the process.

Will, the hero of Rocky Mountain Revelation, finds his sweetheart Madeleine particularly pretty with flour up to her elbows. However, he grows tired of the mounds of donuts and by the end of the drive attempts to trade them for the cook’s fluffy biscuits.

A delightful and fun book. A Regency Era setting with Romance and a bit

of a mystery to solve. I LOVED this book from the very first chapter!

Frannie Fanshawe has lost her mom and finds out she has an inheritance.

She has many questions about her heritage, but doesn't know where to

find her father. She has a sense of urgency to find her father, as she might

lose her inheritance and possible her reputation. She is also homeless after her mom's dies. Frannie is almost run over by one of the towns Socialites,

Edward Arundell, and he takes her home to meet his family. Mrs. Arundell

takes a liking to Frannie and takes her in. Sebastian Arundell, the brother

of Edward Arundell, begins to take a liking to Frannie and decides to help

her find her father and secure her inheritance. Will Sebastian find her father? Has Frannie been told the truth about her past or does Sebastian unravelsome secrets? Is there a romance between Sebastian and Frannie?

Miss Fanshawe's Fortune by Linore Rose Burkard is Book 2 in The Brides

of Mayfair series. I have not read Book 1, but this truly is a wonderful

Standalone book! The characters are intriguing and loving. Linore Rose

Burkard really told a story and the setting was truly a Regency setting.

LOVE this book from beginning to end!

Linore Rose Burkard is a serious watcher of period films, a Janeite, and hopeless romantic. An award winning author best known for Inspirational Regency Romance, her first book opened the genre for the CBA. Besides historical romance, Linore writes YA contemporary suspense and contemporary romance. Linore has a magna cum laude English Lit. degree from CUNY which she earned while taking herself far too seriously. Today we have a multi-published author with us, Linore Rose Burkard. Linore, welcome. Please tell us more about yourself as a writer. I understand you feel very purpose-driven in you vocation.

Linore: I do. Newer writers usually say their purpose is to write whatever specific book they’re working on. But I believe our purpose goes deeper than that, deeper than any single book. My purpose—which some may consider a humble calling—is to write smart, well-researched romance infused with humor that literally warms the heart. My readers close my romance novels with a smile and the feeling—at least for a few minutes—that all is right with the world.

When did you realize that was your purpose?

A writer needs to be humble enough to accept what their giftings are. I had to accept that I wasn’t going to write the next ‘great American novel.’ I wasn’t going to be a Hemingway. Having been schooled in the classics, both British and American, writing inspirational romance seems lightweight. Georgette Heyer, a writer I greatly admire, once said she ought to be shot for what she writes! Because there’s this perception among the literati that romance literature is less than respectable. But I’ve learned that heartwarming romance is worthy in itself, whether it is overtly evangelistic or not, and whether English professors would agree or not. Readers have written to me with such gratitude that it showed me that what I write is no less valuable –to those who will be blessed by it—than the classics.

How did you get started?

I’ve been an avid reader all my life and was always was drawn to write, even as a child. But I saw a need for something specific that wasn’t out there—Regency Romance that included a Christian worldview. I wanted to read that book, but it didn’t exist. So that’s what I started out writing. My first three novels with Harvest House were Inspirational Regencies. The genre since then has grown by leaps and bounds, which I think is great.

Would you like to give a tip for writers?

It’s important to write the book on your heart, not the one you think you should write because it will make money, or because it’s what people want. A lot of gurus are out there saying you should research the audience before putting pen to paper to make sure your book will be marketable. Well, there is some truth in that—if you write a book about some obscure dog breed that only 200 people own, you’re not gonna have a bestseller. But there’s a big danger in that method, too. The book on your heart, the story that won’t go away, is most likely the one that will help point you to your purpose in writing; and it will be the one that resonates with readers.
