Holiday Inn Nashville Airport

Readers and Writers will gather at the fourth annual Read Write Rendezvous, organized and sponsored by JustRead Publicity Tours, LLC, on November 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT at the Holiday Inn Nashville Airport. Rendezvous celebrates Christian fiction and sweet reads, featuring corporate worship, speaker sessions, author panels, small-group discussions, games, giveaways, a pop-up bookshop, and book signings. This event aims to sweeten reading and storytelling experiences with fellowship and encouragement. Over forty featured authors are participating, including The Christy Award Hall of Fame and bestselling author Tamera Alexander who will deliver the keynote address. USA Today and top ten Publishers Weekly bestselling author Lisa Phillips will lead worship. We will announce several more authors in the coming weeks! We prayerfully honor the legacy of the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat through each Rendezvous event, and this year we are especially celebrating the very first CFRR which was held 10 years ago in Nashville. Rendezvous is open only to registered attendees. Want to extend your reader getaway? The Christy Award Gala and Art of Writing conference will be held at a nearby venue on November 6.

When the bonds in their family begin to fray, four Black women fight to preserve their legacy, heal their wounds, and move forward together in this heartwarming contemporary debut novel with loose parallels to beloved women from the Bible.

The four women of the Gardin family live side-by-side in Edin, Georgia, but residing in tight proximity doesn’t mean everything is picture-perfect. Ruth runs the family’s multimillion-dollar peanut business, a legacy of the Gardins’ formerly enslaved ancestors. But tensions have intensified since the death of her husband, Beau, and she feels like an outsider in the very place she wishes to belong.

Sisters Mary and Martha fuel the family tension. Martha’s unfounded mistrust of Ruth causes her to constantly seek ways to undermine Ruth’s decisions with the business, while Mary, trying to focus on her new restaurant that serves healthy comfort food, is dragged into the family fray by Martha.

For years, Naomi, the matriarch who raised the sisters after their parents’ death and supported Ruth in her grief, has played peacemaker. But as she decides to take a step back, hidden truths, life-and-death circumstances, and escalating clashes finally force the Gardin women to grapple with what it means to be a family.

A heartwarming Southern story of family and all its many complexities, The Gardins of Edin delivers a thoughtful portrayal of four women trying to hold on to their secrets. Women who just might—if they can only let go—find the peace they seek by holding on to one another.

Rosey Lee writes stories about complicated families and complex friendships, but a happy ending is guaranteed. She was nominated for a 2025 Georgia Author of the Year Award for The Gardins of Edin, her debut novel. A Gardin Wedding is her second novel. Rosey lives in Atlanta, about an hour away from the fictional town of Edin, Georgia, where her characters live. She grew up on the Westbank of New Orleans and carries the area and her loved ones in her heart when she’s away from them. Rosey’s essays have appeared in Writer’s Digest, The Nerd Daily, and Deep South Magazine. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, listening to live music, and occasional bursts of fanatical bargain shopping. Rosey loves speaking at book club meetings, book festivals, churches, conferences, libraries, academic institutions—you name it. I was very intrigued by the synopsis of this book and the "new to me author". The book is about 4 Sisters who are struggling with many facets of Family Life.

Ruth, Naomi, Martha and Mary Gardin all live next to each other in Edin, Georgia. The sisters may live close to another, but life has been taking them in different directions and family drama has taken over. They are trying to run the Family Peanut Business together, and there seems to be too many decisions to be made. Ruth is part of the Gardin family through marriage and she has been really feeling out of place since her husband, Beau Gardin, passed away. Martha seems to have a Trust issue with Ruth and is mistreating Ruth. The Sisters are belitting and battling one another until Family emergencies help them realize that Family is too important to be feuding and causing drama. I was enthralled by how Family begins the healing and opening up to one another once they realize how far the drama had broken the family up. The author really does a good job at character interaction and showing the reader the theme of Family First. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Fiction. GOOD BOOK!
