Christian Futuristic with Mystery is a new genre that I have discovered recently. The Resurrection Project by Tanya Sparks Belvin is the most recent book that I have read in this genre. It is Book 1 in The Resurrection Project Series.
I will say it took me a couple of chapters to really get the storyline and understand the book. The setting of the book is 2034 at Grindland Institute. The main characters of the book are Ellen McCarthy and Mamie Simpson. Ellen, a Medical Student, gets a job at the Institute to get credit for Graduation. She wasn't thrilled about the job as it involved taking care of Children. Mamie Simpson is an ER Nurse and also grieving for her young daughter. Ellen and Mamie meet each other and they become instant friends and encouragement to one another. They also want to make sure no one else has to grieve for a young child and want to find a way to save the life of a little girl. I have to say that thought it took me a bit to get interested in the book, I ended up really enjoying the story. The author does a FANTASTIC job at interweaving Science and Faith. I thought the book was going to have a more Science slant, but it was VERY Faith filled. I LOVE how the characters not only trusted Science, but their Faith in God was even stronger. The friendship formed between the Intern and the Nurse and her family, was just amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Faith and Science! GREAT BOOK!
