Rescuing her was his Christmas miracle…
But will she be gone again by New Year’s?
Devon Fairchild arrives in the small town of Maple Glen just weeks before Christmas to honor a promise she made to her late brother. Then she’ll get back to her life in the city. But when she’s injured, firefighter Finn McAllister rescues her and takes her home to his family, who shower her with compassion and holiday cheer. For the first time, Devon starts to feel like she belongs. But the walls she’s built around her heart have always kept her safe. If she lets them fall, will she truly be rescued…or will it only lead to more heartbreak?
I really enjoy Harlequin Heartwarming books and I really enjoy Christmas themed novels. Rescued at Christmas by Janice Carter is Book 2 in the Home to Maple Glen series. I read Book 1 in this series and have been excited since learning Book 2 was coming.
I can honestly say that I was captivated by the storyline from the very first chapter. Devon Fairchild and Finn McAllister are the 2 main characters in this book. Devon visits Maple Glen to honor a request from her late brother. She LOVES living in the BIG City and Maple Glen is a small town that has meaning to her family, especially her late brother. Devon is injured while hiking during a snowstorm in Maple Glen and Finn McAllister is the Firefighter who rescues her. The small town guy, Finn, takes her back to his family's house to help her recover. I really LOVE how the family nutures and takes care of Devon. Devon has been a person who built walls up and prefers to be career oriented then relationship focused due to having her heart broken in the past. I am astonished by the gentleness that the McAllister family shows to Devon and it slowly "melts the walls" that were holding her back. Finn and Devon become close during her time at the house and he knows he is falling for Devon. Devon begins to think about life in a Small Town rather then returning to the BIG City she has grown to love. The book is one of Family, overcoming obstacles, Faith and ROMANCE. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Heartwarming Romance Stories. WONDERFUL BOOK!
