Laurie Winter
Publisher:
Love Inspired Suspense
Release Date:

Genre:
Christian Romantic Suspense

Is she the pursuer…

Or the pursued?

When a body was found at the edge of the bayou, police detective Charlotte Reid knew the serial killer who murdered her sister was back. And if she didn’t stop him, he’d kill again. FBI special agent Austin Walsh insisted Charlotte couldn’t do it on her own. But then the murderer gave Charlotte a deadly challenge—catch him, or she’d be his next victim…

From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

I REALLY enjoy LOVE Inspired Suspense novels. Hunted by a Killer by Laurie Winter is part of the COLD CASE series that is done by Various Authors. I have read a few others in this series and I was excited to read this book.

WOW, the suspense and mystery starts immediately and doesn't let up throughout the entire book. I could not stop reading until i was done because it was soo good.  I really LOVE both of the main characters, Charlotte Reid and Austin Walsh.  charlotte is a Police Detective who has a passion for her job. Her sister was murdered by a serial killer years ago and she is determined to make sure he doesn't kill again. Austin is an FBI agent and wants to protect her when her life is at risk from the serial killer who killed her sister. The pair really work well together and the fact they knew each other before this case helped them. The Romance between Charlotte and Austin was beautiful, especially when they rely on God to help them with the case and their budding romance. The book has many twists and turns and really kept me intrigued to keep reading. The book is filled with Mystery, Romance and Faith. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who loves Chrsitian Mystery with Romance. GREAT BOOK!

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: A Summer at The Niagara of the South by Denise Weimer

Book: A Summer at The Niagara of the South

Author: Denise Weimer

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Release date: June 28, 2024

She came to the resort to heal her voice, only to discover her heart needed healing more.

Breaking under the stress of being a rising star, opera singer Grace Galveston travels to Tallulah Falls in search of reprieve. With its multiple waterfalls, spectacular gorge and mountain scenery, and lavish resorts, “The Niagara of the South,” seems the perfect place to do just that. Even amid the crowds and excitement of an aerialist’s attempt to cross the gorge, Grace hopes to find peace.

Daniel Monroe basks in that peace as minister of a local church. He’s the perfect tour guide for Grace during her visit—until his heart gets entangled with the red-haired beauty with an angel’s voice. The trip sheds light on the secret pain in Grace’s heart. And does she even share the faith that’s so vital to his ministry? Can the blessing of friendship and the possibility of love guide her toward healing, or will the call of her life back in New York mean even greater heartbreak?

I truly enjoy Christian Historical Romance Books and I also like reading books that are part of a series. A summer at the Niagara of the South by Denise Weimer is Book 7 in the Romance at the Gilded Age Resorts series. The series is written by Various Authors and I enjoyed the first 6 books in this series and have been anticipating the release of this book.

The Book time period is one I really LOVE and I really felt like I was there in the time period while reading this story.. I really enjoyed Grace and Daniel's story in this book. Grace, an Opera Singer,  went away to rest to the Tallulah Falls and heal her voice and soon discovers that her heart is in need of healing. Daniel, a local minister, near the Falls, decides to be the tour guide for Grace. Their friendship leads to the discovery that Grace is hurting from things from her past. I really LOVE the connection between the pair and how Daniel shows Grace the faith that she has been lacking.  Daniel's gentleness toward Grace uplifted her spirits and gave her new meaning for what lies ahead for her. The book is one of Faith, Forgiveness, New friendships and relationships.  I HIGHLY recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys the time period and Christian Romance Fiction. WONDERFUL BOOK!

More from Denise

A Vanished Gilded Age Resort on the Edge of a Gorge

I first discovered Tallulah Gorge in Northeast Georgia when I was a student at Toccoa Falls College, only a couple years before the area was designated a state park. It was considered a perfect place for a day out hiking, tracing whatever faint trail one could find to an overlook into the thousand-foot-deep canyon or down to the series of waterfalls below. The more daring (or crazy) would jump off the rock cliffs into the pools—without a clue that the dangerous currents feeding the rapids had whisked many an adventurer to their death.

As a young mom, I moved to Habersham County and learned that over twenty lavish resorts had clung to the rim of the gorge during Gilded Age and Edwardian times. In fact, Tallulah Gorge with its series of six spectacular falls had drawn people from all over the nation and been dubbed “The Niagara of the South.” To power the city of Atlanta, Georgia Power Company dammed the river and constructed a large hydroelectric facility at the site in 1912, greatly reducing the amount of water flowing through the gorge. In 1921, a fire destroyed most of the hotels and brought an end to the glamorous tourist era.

The idea of recreating on the page something lost to history has inspired many a story idea for me. I had set aside my quest for publication with the birth of my daughters, but Tallulah Falls called to me. I soon penned my first published novella, Redeeming Grace, set during the summer of 1886 when tightrope walker Professor Leon crossed the gorge before a crowd of around six thousand. (The stunt was repeated in 1970 by Karl Wallenda.) That little book was a tiny initial stepping stone on my journey to becoming a multi-published author and editor.

Another more recent novella of mine, A Winter at the White Queen, set at Hotel Belleview in Florida, kicked off Wild Heart Books’ Romance at the Gilded Age Resorts Series in January 2023. It took quite a while for it to dawn on me that after being released from its original contract, Redeeming Grace was pretty much gathering digital dust—and with a light edit and new cover and title, it could perfectly bookend the series. So we give you A Summer at the Niagara of the South, the story of a New York opera singer breaking under the stress of newfound stardom, and the Tallulah Falls minister who doesn’t dare to dream she could fit into his humble world.

Momentum Influencers Blog Tour: Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart by Lysa TerKeurst

God not only has the whole world in His hands; He's holding the details of your life in His faithful hands as well.

What lies heaviest on your heart as you lay your head on your pillow? Are paralyzing fear and anxiety stealing tomorrow's peace? Listen to this invitation from Jesus:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest" (Matthew 11:28 NIV). Experiencing this kind of rest won't come from escapism, more vacation days, or stuffing our feelings. Jesus Himself provides rest to our weary souls. While He may not always fix everything right away, we can fix our thoughts on His Word. In doing this, we can sleep at night with ease knowing that God has it all under control.

Through the pages of Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart, written by New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst and her friends at Proverbs 31 Ministries, you will be equipped to:
• Quiet fearful and anxious thoughts that always seem to be the loudest before bedtime by incorporating the Bible into your nightly routine
• Find relief from the stress of daily obligations and pressures through 50 encouraging devotions and guided prayers written by women like you
• Release the heaviness you feel about hard situations in your life so you can wake up refreshed and walk into the next day with courage.

Devotionals are a part of my daily life. I enjoy Devotionals with a Theme. Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart: 50 Devotions for Sleeping Well in a World Full of Worry by Lysa TerKeurst and other members of the Proverbs 31 Team is the most recent Devotional Book that I have read.

I have always been one to start and finish my Day with a Devotional reading. I really LOVE that this Devotional is for right before Bed. My days are filled with being busy in my household and at Church. I like to be "on the go". i am also one who likes to keep up with the World Happenings by watching TV News. The World Happenings can cause anxiety and worry. I also am mom to 3 Young Adult sons who tend to cause me Anxiety and Worry with them Navigating the World. I am just filled with anxiety and worry and I tend to suffer from Insomnia because of it. This 50 Day Devotional Book leads the reader through the Scripture that helps calm the mind and thoughts. I really like the format of each Devotional which includes:  Scripture, Commentary, A Quote and A Prayer. The Devotions really help me focus on my faith and that God will help us through the Worry and Anxiety.  I feel this book would be GREAT for Individuals and also for Small Group Studies. I HIGHLY recommend this devotional for all! ENCOURAGING BOOK!

JustRead Tours Blog Tour: Guess Who is in God's Family by Karen Ferguson

Guess Who is in God's Family JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for Guess Who Is in God's Family by Karen Ferguson, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Guess Who is in Gods Family

Title: Guess Who is in God's Family
Series:
Questions for Kids
Author:
Karen Ferguson
Publisher:
Ambassador International
Release Date:
June 4, 2024
Genre:
Children's Picture Book

When Lucy comes across some old family pictures, she has a lot of questions for Papa Joe. Who are these people? Why doesn’t she look like them? As Papa Joe tells Lucy about her family, he shares with her the uniqueness that God created in each of us from the very beginning, all the way back to our first ancestors, Adam and Eve. What follows is a wild adventure through the Bible, where Lucy and her papa discover God’s love and faithfulness for all people throughout all of history. In this second book in the Questions for Kids series, discover how much God loves diversity and how God created your family in the most beautiful and perfect way.

I believe Children's Book are a very important Genre. The earlier a child is read to or reading it becomes a lifelong enjoyment.  Guess Who is in God's Family by Karen Ferguson is the most recent Children's book that I have read. It is Book 2 in the Question for Kids series.

Book 2 features Lucy Lu and Papa Joe from Book 1. Lucy Lu is asking questions to Papa Joe about why she doesn't look like the people on the pictures she has found. Papa Joe gets the opportunity to answer Lucy Lu's questions once again. He goes all the way back in the Bible, beginning with Adam and Eve and through other characters of the Bible. He explains how God created everyone to be different from one another. Lucy Lu learns that families were created by God and how even within families there are differences.

I really LOVED reading this book to the Little Ones at Sunday School and the kids really enjoyed this one as much as the first book. I really LOVE how Papa Joe tells Lucy Lu that God created everyone with their own unique features and personalities. I really love the theme of the book that God doesn't make mistakes when creating us and we are all uniquely and wonderfully made. Lucy Lu is a very inquisitive young girl and I LOVE that Papa Joe answers here questions with Biblical Foundations.  I am looking forward to more books in this series! WONDERFUL BOOK!
