Young love means everything . . . until it leaves you with nothing.
The summer before her senior year of high school, Laney Jacobs and her best friend jump from a six-story beachside cliff in an attempt to impress their boyfriends. Laney rose from the water. Her friend did not.
Six years later, when Laney’s troubled mother’s memoir hits the bestseller list airing the family’s destructive secrets, Laney is forced to relive the trauma, this time in the public eye. To escape the scrutiny, she seeks shelter at her estranged grandmother’s seaside inn. But she can’t reconcile the loving woman with the heartless parent in her mother’s book. As she seeks answers, the boyfriend who once cost her a promising future reappears, stirring up both pain and hope.
When her mother's vindictive fans threaten her grandmother's livelihood and the lighthouse Laney has come to love, she turns to the century-old words of a young lighthouse keeper to help her find the courage to move forward. But once truths from the past come to light and old love finds new beginnings, will Laney discover that forgiveness is the only way toward true healing?
I really enjoy Christian Historical Fiction and Dual Timeline books. The Way Back by Heidi Chiavaroli is the most recent book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 1 in the Lights of Acadia series.
WOW, this book had me intrigued from the very first chapter and kept my attention until the end. The setting is in Maine in Present Day and the late 1800's. The main character, Laney Jacobs, is back in the Public Eye when her mom releases a Memoir. Her Mom's Memoir brings up many family secrets and trauma from a few years ago and Laney is distraught over this. I LOVE how Laney decides to go to her Grandmother's house to seek refuge from the scrutiny of the book release and trauma. The character from the past, Abbie the Lighthouse Keeper, was a wonderful part of the book. Laney found Abbie's diary from many years ago and she began reading it. Abbie's story helped Laney with her healing from the Trauma from watching her friend die and other Childhood Trauma she had with her Mom. Abbey, the Lighthouse Keeper from the late 1800's, had some wisdom and truths that also led Laney to a faith in God. The author does an amazing job addressing sensitive topics in this book with grace . The book is one of Learning to Heal, Faith, Forgiveness and Hope. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes Historical Christian Fiction and Dual Timelines. WONDERFULLY AWESOME BOOK!

Sounds great!
I'm intrigued by the character of a woman who was a lighthouse keeper in the 1800s.
This sounds like a book hat I would really enjoy.
