Soul Surfer is the inspiring true story of Bethany Hamilton. Bethany was born into a family of surfers and began surfing at a young age near her home on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. October 31, 2003 was a day that changed Bethany on the outside, but allowed her to grow stronger on the inside. She was attacked by a shark while surfing and she suffered a severed Left Arm. Bethany endured the loss of 60% of her blood and many surgeries after the attack, but just one month later was back on the her board and surfing again and just 3 months later she was back to competition.
Bethany's Faith in God and her positive attitude have been amazing! When many would take a "tragedy" such as Bethany's and not press forward, Bethany wanted to reach her goal of becoming a Professional Surfer. In 2007 she achieved that dream and turned Pro!
