Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Love's Mountain Quest by Misty M. Beller

Book:  Love’s Mountain Quest
Author: Misty M Beller
Genre:  Historical romance
Release Date: June 30, 2020

After losing her husband in the Rocky Mountain wilderness, young widow Joanna Watson is struggling to make a new home for her five-year-old son, Samuel, in the little mountain town of Settler’s Fort. When she returns home from work to find Samuel and the woman watching him missing–and the sheriff dead–she enlists a man she prays has enough experience in this rugged country to help.

Isaac Bowen wants nothing more than a quiet, invisible life in these mountains, far away from the bad decisions of his past. But he has a strong suspicion of who’s behind the kidnapping and murder, and if he’s right, he knows all too well the evil they’re chasing.

As they press on against the elements, Joanna fights to hold on to hope, while Isaac knows a reckoning is coming. They find encouragement in the tentative trust that grows between them, but whether it can withstand the danger and coming confrontation is far from certain in this wild, unpredictable land.

Misty M. Beller has become one of my favorite authors. I have read a few of her books in the past. Love's Mountain Quest is book 2 in the Heart of Montana series. I have read the first book in the series, Hope's Highest Mountain. I must say even if you start with Book 2, you will understand the book as it is a great Stand Alone book.

Love's Mountain Quest, brings back Joanna Watson, who was a small part of Book one and also Isaac Bowen. Isaac becomes an intergeral part in helping to find Joanna's 5yr old son when he and his babysitter are kidnapped. They face many obstacles in their search and at some points it is dangerous. Isaac wants to keep the focus on finding the Babysitter and JoAnna's 5yrs old son, but also finds himself seeing their friendship turn into something more. Isaac has some issues from his past that has him believing that he is not good enough for JoAnna. Will he be able to overcome his past and seek forgiveness for his past? Will they find JoAnna's son and Babysitter? Will the friendship turn romantic? I would say READ the book and you will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed the book and was very focused on reading it from the minute I picked up the book. The twists and turn kept me reading and wondering. GREAT BOOK!

The Story Behind the Story: Love’s Mountain Quest

Love’s Mountain Quest was one of the hardest books I’ve ever written, even though I LOVE Isaac and Joanna and their story. What made this book so hard was the fact that I wrote most of the story during my third trimester of pregnancy with our son!

Our little Matthew is our fourth baby (and first boy), so I was VERY heavy with child during the last three months I carried him, and that was the time that I’d scheduled to write Love’s Mountain Quest. Needless to say, the words were not flowing very well. My creativity was as exhausted as the rest of me! I could see Isaac and Joanna’s story in my mind, but showing it for readers using real words was the hard part.
Thankfully, I have an amazing editor at Bethany House (waving at Jen Veilleux!) who helped me massage the first draft, pushing both me and the story to be the very best we could be. Unfortunately for her, the edits for this book were the first bit of writing I did after taking a short maternity leave after the birth, so my brain was still a bit mushy from all the post-partum hormones and lack of sleep a newborn always brings. Jen’s patience through the process was remarkable, yet I so appreciate her determination not to stop until we had the very best book possible.
Our little Matthew just turned one, and Love’s Mountain Quest is finally making its way out into the world. Because of Jen, I’m so excited to share it with you! I can’t wait for you to meet the characters and story I love so much.

The house was silent this late at night. Turning all the lights out, she silently roamed the dark house for a while. This time of night she found peaceful. Calming.

A flicker in the corner of her eye caught her attention. She looked around the family room. Nothing. Then another small flicker came through the window.

“What the?” She rubbed a hand over her eyes as she stepped up to the window. Did she really see something? She pushed the curtain further out of her way, stared out into the darkness. Perhaps it was just a firefly.
After a minute, she saw the flickering light again. No, a flashlight beam moving through the woods behind her house, flickering in and out around the trees. Someone was walking around in the dark.

“Who would be out there this time of night?” Inessa Jo muttered to herself. “No one should be out there.”

LOVE Inspired books are a favorite book series of mine. Many of the books in the series are short and an easy read.

I absolutely ENJOYED this LOVE Inspired book, Falling for the InnKeeper by Meghann Whistler. Laura Lessoway is a Single Mom. She finds out her mom wants to sell her Grandmother's Inn located in Cape Cod and Laura decides she is determined to save it from being sold. Her determination leads her to a meeting with a "big time lawyer", Jonathan Masters. The 2 are supposed to have a business relationship, but soon find themselves falling for each other. Laura, who is recently divorced, is being cautious in stepping into a relationship. She doesn't want to fall into another relationship too fast, but Jonathan really is handsome and wonderful. Will the 2 have just a business relationship or will there be a "Happy LOVE Relationship"?

Meghann Whistler has a GREAT Debut Novel with Falling for the Innkeeper. The book has many twists and turns and is a continually page turner. The setting of Cape Cod really feels serene. I was drawn into the story and felt like I was there in the midst of everything. FANTASTIC BOOK!

A Very Austen Romance is a Novella (collection of stories) by Robin Helm, Wendi Sotis, Laura Hile,  Barbara Cornthwaite, Mandy H. Cook, and Chautona Havig. I am a fan of Jane Austen and I also really enjoy Novellas.

I really enjoy how each of the Authors took the Jane Austen story and characters and created new stories around the characters. I dove into the Novella right away and it was a quick read, but a VERY enjoyable read. The stories are unique and fun, yet the characters in the stories are familiar to Jane Austen Fans. I LOVE how the Authors worked together to create such a delightful and romantic Novella.

A Very Austen Romance is book #3 in the Austen Anthology series. I have not read the first 2 books in the series, but I am hunting them down to read them. I am pretty sure they will be just as good as this book is! If you enjoy Romance and Jane Austen, you will definitely enjoy A Very Austen Romance! WONDERFUL BOOK!

Robin Helm’s books reflect her love of music, as well as her fascination with the paranormal and science fiction.
Previously published works include The Guardian Trilogy: Guardian, SoulFire, and Legacy; the Yours by Design series: Accidentally Yours, Sincerely Yours, and Forever Yours; Understanding Elizabeth;  More to Love; and Lawfully Innocent. Ms. Helm also contributed stories to A Very Austen Christmas and A Very Austen Valentine.
She plans to publish Maestro in 2020.
Her life in (usually) sunny, small town South Carolina is busy, but affords time for writing, reading, teaching piano, and playing games on her phone. (Would you believe she’s an elder in a war game?)

Readers are loving Laura Hile’s joyous Regency novels. Her signature style—with intertwined plots, cliffhangers, laugh-out-loud humor, and romance—keeps them coming back for more.
The comedy Laura comes by as a teacher. There’s never a dull moment with teen students!
Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and a collection of antique clocks.
Her fiction is for everyone, even teens.

Wendi Sotis lives on Long Island, NY, with her husband and triplets. While searching for Pride and Prejudice from Darcy’s point of view, she became thoroughly enamored with Jane Austen Fan Fiction or JAFF. In early 2010, she dreamed of an idea for a story and hasn’t stopped writing since: Promises, Dreams and Expectations; All Hallows Eve; The Keys for Love; Safekeeping (with just a dash of Austen); The Gypsy Blessing; Foundation of Love (The Gypsy Blessing 2); and A Lesson Hard Learned.
The Marriage Pact, and some of Wendi’s works-in-progress, have branched away from JAFF to Regency Romance (the Loving an Aldridge Series) and Contemporary Romantic Mysteries (the Implicated series). Wendi will also continue bringing Darcy and Elizabeth together again and again in an unusual manner.

Barbara Cornthwaite lives in the middle of Ireland with her husband and children. She taught college English before “retiring” to do something she loves far more; her days are now filled with homeschooling her six children, trying to keep the house tidy (a losing battle), and trying to stay warm in the damp Irish climate (also a losing battle). She is surrounded by medieval castles, picturesque flocks of sheep, and ancient stone monuments. These things are unappreciated by her children, who are more impressed by traffic jams, skyscrapers, and hot weather.

Mandy Cook was an RN for over ten years, half of which she served in the Navy, living in far-flung places, enjoying experiencing the world while following her calling. Just before she and her handsome Marine were both deployed to different places, they married. They now have three children, ages five and younger.
She previously published The Gifted, using her nursing experience to lend accuracy to her story about an ER nurse who is handed a gift that changes her life forever. Adversity, and a long history of secrets, constantly battle against her natural instinct for truth and justice, but will the truth be worth the dare?
Mandy also contributed a story to A Very Austen Valentine: Austen Anthologies, Book 1.

Chautona Havig lives in an oxymoron, escapes into imaginary worlds that look startlingly similar to ours and writes the stories that emerge. An irrepressible optimist, Chautona sees everything through a kaleidoscope of It’s a Wonderful Life sprinkled with fairy tales. Find her on the web and say howdy—if you can remember how to spell her name.
