A Higher Ransom seems to be set in the Renaissance Era. The main character, Anna, moves to live with her Aunt in a town where Christianity is forbidden. The challenges that Anna faces from being a Christian, only bring her closer to God. The storyline has Scripture and Christianity all the way through, very strong faith interwoven into the book.
The story is very interesting and keeps the reader very engaged. I don't think I have ever read a fictional book that had a strong Scripture message throughout and I love the book
for that and the great writing! GREAT BOOK!
