I have really come to enjoy Christian Mystery/Suspense books. Urcelia Teixeira is a new to me author and I was very intrigued by the synopsis for the book Every Good Gift. I recently had the chance to read it and give my thoughts. Every Good Gift is the 1st Book in the Adam Cross Suspense series.

Adam Cross has endured so much since he was a child. He had an unfortunate accident that almost destroyed his life. He is now an adult and he feels he is at a good point in his life. He has relocated to the East Coast to be a Pastor of The Lighthouse mission and lives in a Small Community, Turtle Cove, on East Coast. He is married to Ruth and they have a little girl named Abigail. Life is going great and then another accident happens. Although, Adam believes this wasn't an "accident" as things seem to point to this being a targeted action. Adam focuses on remaining strong, but he also wants to find out who is planning attacks against him and his family members. Will Adam discover who has been targeting him and his family members? Will his faith be shattered as he searches for the truth?

WOW, a page-turner of a book from Page 1! Adam is a strong man who has been through a lot in his life. Losing both of his parents at a young age could have left him devasted for life. He felt God calling him to the ministry and he followed through with that. I was on the edge of my seat reading this, trying to figure out the "whodunit". There were so many twists and turns in this book that I was shocked at the ending. I LOVE reading a book that is not predictable. I HIGHLY recommend this book who LOVES Christian Fiction Mystery and Suspense! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Award winning author of faith-filled Christian Suspense Thrillers that won’t let you go!®

Urcelia Teixeira writes gripping Christian mystery, thriller and suspense novels that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Firm in her Christian faith, all her books are free from profanity and unnecessary sexually suggestive scenes.

She made her writing debut in December 2017, kicking off her newly discovered author journey with her fast-paced archaeological adventure thriller novels that readers have described as ‘Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft with a twist of Bourne.'

But, five novels in, and nearly eighteen months later, she had a spiritual re-awakening, and she wrote the sixth and final book in her Alex Hunt Adventure Thriller series. She now fondly refers to The Caiaphas Code as her redemption book; her statement of faith. And although this series has reached multiple Amazon Bestseller lists, she took the bold step of following her true calling and switched to writing what naturally flows from her heart and soul: Christian Mystery and Suspense.

The first book in her newly discovered genre went on to win the 2021 Illumination Awards Silver medal in the Christian Fiction category and the series reached multiple Amazon Bestseller lists!

While this success is a great honor and blessing, all glory goes to God alone who breathed every word through her!

A committed Christian for nearly twenty years, she now lives by the following mantra:

”I used to be just a writer. Now, I am a writer with a purpose!”

More from Urcelia

Many years ago God gave me a prophetic scripture through which He named me Hephzibah (meaning ‘My delight is in her’). Some time after that, life happened and for a long while I felt unworthy of that name.  But, God showed me grace in this area for the nearly ten years that followed and, although I never aspired to be a writer, I wrote my first ever book on a bucket list whim in December 2017. Somehow it evolved into a series, but, while writing the fifth book in my Alex Hunt adventure thriller series, I felt the Holy Spirit nudging and directing me into using my God-given talent for enhancing His Kingdom instead.  I obeyed and wrote the final book in that series, The Caiaphas Code, as my statement of faith before switching to writing Christian mystery and suspense instead.  Two days later, the idea for Every Good Gift was born and the day I finished writing the last sentence of this book, I heard the Lord whisper in my ear, Hephzibah, Hephzibah, over and over.  That has been the most noteworthy highlight of my short career so far: knowing that I have pleased God.

Every Good Gift is the first book in my three-book Adam Cross Christian Suspense series. I loved writing this book!  It’s a poignant but suspenseful tale about a young pastor who had lost both his parents in a car accident as a child, then faces adversity for the second time when a horrific accident claims the lives of his wife and daughter.  As he clings to his faith, searching for answers, he discovers his parents’ accident wasn’t an accident after all.  The more he digs for the truth, the more secrets he uncovers and the more he learns of his past, God’s grace, and ultimately, his gifting.  There are lots of twists and turns and a few tears along the way as the mysteries unfold.

This book went on to win the silver medal for Christian Fiction in the 2021 Illumination Awards.

May you be blessed with reading this book, just as I have been while writing it.

JustRead Tours Blog Tour: Finding Her Voice by Donna Gartshore

Finding Her Voice JustRead Blog + Review Tour

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for Finding Her Voice by Donna Gartshore, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Finding Her Voice Title: Finding Her Voice
Author: Donna Gartshore
Publisher: Harlequin Love Inspired
Release Date: August 23, 2022
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Christian

Overcoming their differences
Could be the answer to all their problems

Bridget Connelly dreams of buying her boss’s veterinary clinic and starting her own business—but so does auditor Sawyer Blume. Despite her trust issues toward men, it’s hard to stay rivals when Sawyer’s traumatized daughter bonds with Bridget’s adorable pup. And when another buyer tries to outbid them both, working together might give them everything they want…including each other.

I truly enjoy books under the LOVE Inspired brand as they are easy to read and usually a quick read. Finding Her Voice by Donna Gartshore is the latest book in the LOVE Inspired brand that I have read. Donna Gartshore is a new-to-me author and I also really enjoy new-to-me authors.

Bridget Connelly has a life goal to own the Veterinary Clinic where she currently works. She is a little dishearted to learn that Sawyer Blume, who is an auditor, also wants to buy the same Veterinary Clinic. Bridget has trust issues with men, but Sawyer's daughter and Bridget's little pup bond easily, allowing her to not be so guarded with Sawyer. Sawyer and his 7yr old daughter, Delilah, have recently lost their wife and mother. Delilah has been going through a lot since her mother died, but the little pup brings her out of her shell. Sawyer and Bridget discover that another person is also vying to buy the Veterinary Clinic. Bridget is lacking the funds to make the purchase happen and Sawyer is emotionally broken right now. Will Sawyer and Bridget come up with a plan that allows them to become partners in buying the Clinic? Will there be a Romance between Sawyer and Bridget?

WOW, just WOW!! I LOVE the theme behind this book. The author addresses some sensitive topics, including Abusive Relationships, but does so with grace. Bridget is a woman with dreams and goals. I LOVE that she has such a passion for animals and is very caring to them. Sawyer isn't expecting to find love so soon after his wife's tragic death. His focus is on his daughter, Delilah, and helping her through the loss of her mom. I LOVE how Bridget and Sawyer come together to not only achieve life goals but care for each other and Delilah. Their faith is tested in many ways throughout the book, but Bridget and Sawyer come out stronger through all this. The author does a great job at showing how faith in God will help those struggling get through circumstances. A WONDERFUL Faith-Based Christian Romance and I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Linda Shenton Matchett has become one of my favorite authors. I have read many of her books over the last few years. I especially love her Historical Fiction series as I always feel that I am right there in that time period. Gold Rush Bride Caroline by Linda Shenton Matchett is Book 2 in the Gold Rush Brides series. I have not read the first book in this series, but I feel this one reads great as a Standalone book.

Caroline Vogel wants nothing more than to find someone who she can spend a lifetime with. She has found this difficult as she has scars from a Childhood accident. She decides she needs to become financially stable to support herself as she does not have a husband. She heads out to Pike’s Peak goldfields to pan for gold. She is quite smitten by the Assistant Trial Boss and she has hopes for her future. Oliver Llewellyn works with the Pinkerton Agency and has been assigned to watch over Caroline during the journey in the Covered Wagon. He finds himself falling for Caroline, but he also never expected her to be so guarded with her heart. Oliver has a past of being a thief as a teenager. He really wants to be in relationship with Caroline but he has to overcome some obstacles to make that happen. Will Oliver be able to convince Caroline that Beauty comes from within and he sees her beauty? Will there be a chance for a relationship between the pair?

WOW, this just might be one of my favorite books by Linda Shenton Matchett! The storyline was captivating from the very first chapter. I really like how Caroline was very determined to pan gold and become financially stable on her own. Oliver is a very kind gentleman and he knows his past could hinder relationships, but he chooses not to allow that and looks toward a good future. Gold Mining is one of my favorite times in History and I LOVE how the author keeps true to that time period. The twists and turns with Caroline and Oliver's adventures really kept my interest in this book. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who enjoys  Historical Romance! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Linda Shenton Matchett writes about ordinary people who did extraordinary things in days gone by. A volunteer docent and archivist for the Wright Museum of WWII, Linda is a former trustee for her local public library. She is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and was born a stone’s throw from Fort McHenry. Linda has lived in historic places all her life, and is now located in central New Hampshire where her favorite activities include exploring historic sites and immersing herself in the imaginary worlds created by other authors.

More from Linda

Dear Readers,

Have you ever heard the quote about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers that says, “Sure he was great, but don’t forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did, backwards…and in high heels?” Originally seen in a 1982 Frank and Ernest comic strip, the line has been used by many people from comedians to politicians.

A slight twist on the statement can be made about women in the centuries before modern attire allowed them to wear slacks…they did everything men did, but in floor-length skirts (to say nothing of when they had to wear corsets!). A few examples include cooking over an open hearth, hauling water before the invention of pumps and indoor plumbing, farm work such as milking cows or gardening, and riding a horse.

One of my favorite aspects about writing is developing the characters, especially the female protagonists. Mine are typically…well, untypical. The gals in my books are war correspondents, mechanics, spies, doctors, pilots, and midwives, just to name a few. While thinking about what to write next, I stumbled on an article about female prospectors, and I knew I had my story. The few images I found confirmed my suspicion. These women prospected alongside the men,  swirling their pans of silt hour after hour…all while wearing a dress.

I continued to dig and was delighted to find journals and diaries of these stalwart women who either followed their husbands, brothers, or fathers to the gold field or actually set out on their own. The first book in the series, Gold Rush Bride Hannah takes in northern Georgia during the rush of 1829 when more than one million dollars of gold was unearthed.

Today’s tour book, Gold Rush Bride Caroline, is about Hannah’s daughter and takes place during the 1859 Pike’s Peak Gold Rush in Colorado. I hope you enjoy Caroline’s story.

Blessings,

Linda Shenton Matchett

Click here to get your copy!

I truly enjoy Christian Romance books and Merrillee Whren is a great author for this genre. I have read a couple of her other books and enjoyed them. A Match to Call Ours is Book 1 in the Front Porch Promises series. Books that are a part of a series are a joy to read, especially when starting the series at Book 1.

Brittany Gorman is in need of a job. She applies for a Nanny Job for 2 twin girls age 6. She never thought being a Nanny would be something she would do. The dad of the twin girls, Parker Watson, is desperate for help and he hires Brittany, even though he is not sure she will be a good fit for the job. Brittany and the girls instantly bond and Brittany finds herself liking Parker a lot. Parker has some bitterness and anger from being betrayed by friends and others in his past. Parker has secluded himself for a couple of years on his Montana Ranch and has lost his faith in God. Brittany's faith in God is strong and she begins Praying for Parker to come back to the Faith. Can Brittany help Parker return to the Faith? Will there be a romance between Parker and Brittany?

I was intrigued by this storyline from the very first chapter. I LOVE how both Brittany and Parker were willing to take chances on life happenings and go out of their comfort zone. Brittany loved her Nanny job and found herself liking Parker. She was an encouragement to Parker when he revealed the hurt from his past and how he continued to be shunned by the community. I really enjoyed seeing the Community showing LOVE to Paul once he came forward about the Rumors. This book is one of Forgiveness, Taking Chances, and Second Chance at Romance. The book is faith-based and is a heartwarming Romance Story. FANTASTIC BOOK!

More from Merrillee

One of my writing goals is to set at least one book in every state in which I have lived. So far I have written books set in Washington State, Texas, Florida, South Dakota, Georgia, Ohio, Montana, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. I still have to write books set in Illinois and Arizona to complete my goal. Just for fun I’ve gone astray and have written a couple of Christmas novellas set in Maryland, where my older daughter lives. I’m currently working on the third book in that series.

A Match to Call Ours is my Montana book. I lived there when I was a little girl. We lived near Billings from the time I was four until I was ten, when we moved to South Dakota. So as you can imagine my memories are vague, but I’ve visited Montana numerous times as an adult.

Brittany Gorman, the heroine of the book, is originally from Washington State, and if you read my Pinecrest series, you first meet her as a teenager in Second Chance Gift. I have three teenagers in that series, and I wanted to write their adult stories. Brittany’s story comes first, followed by Max’s story, then Amanda’s story in the Front Porch Promises series. The characters take the reader from Montana to Massachusetts, then Tennessee, where the series includes Amanda’s younger sister, Kelsey.

In A Match to Call Ours the hero’s twin daughters are based on my memories of my fourth grade friend Rose. She belonged to the Crow Tribe and had long dark braids just like the twins in the story. I remember the snowstorms and having fun in the snow, sledding, and making snowballs. I got to put those memories to use in the story.

Because I’m what they call an organic writer, I don’t plot my stories. I start writing and see how things unfold. I’m always thankful that somehow God brings everything together when I write a book.

Click here to get your copy!

I am not one who normally likes Mystery books, but the cover and synopsis of Hidden Danger by Jerusha Argen really drew me in. I was hooked from the very first Chapter.

I really like the 2 main Characters, detection specialist Cora Isaksson and DEA Special Agent Kent Thomson. Kent Thomson was not too keen on working with Cora and her K-9 unit, but in the end, he did. He realized they were an asset to him and not a hindrance, as he thought they would be. I also like that this story was not Predictable, many times I was left awe-struck at how it all played out! I also really like how God and Faith are consistently mentioned throughout the book! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Jerusha Agen imagines danger around every corner, but knows God is there, too. So naturally, she writes romantic suspense infused with the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ. Jerusha loves to hang out with her big furry dogs and little furry cats, often while reading or watching movies. Find more of Jerusha’s thrilling, fear-fighting stories at JerushaAgen.com.

More from Jerusha

Hi, readers! Have you ever noticed how dog owners and their canines can seem to look alike? This tendency was illustrated hilariously in 101 Dalmations, the original animated movie. I had fun creating a similar match in my romantic suspense novel, Hidden Danger.

Hidden Danger features Cora Isaksson and her narcotics detection K-9 Jana who partner with a handsome DEA agent to take on a drug cartel targeting the Twin Cities and her brother’s life.

As the securities technologies specialist at the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency, Cora is known by her teammates as the sweetest of them all. Her Christian witness comes through loud and clear as she lives it out daily. But she also has an uncanny ability to understand others and show empathy—a gift that enables her to persuade and influence even hardened criminals, at times.

Cora’s perfect match is Jana. A beautiful golden retriever, Jana matches her blonde human partner’s angelic appearance and personality. Whether searching for narcotics or meeting new people, Jana exhibits an obvious joy and gentle spirit. The sweet golden retriever also seems to share Cora’s intuition and can sense the emotional needs of people. Jana doesn’t hesitate to offer a soft head to stroke or just her calming, gentle presence whenever someone needs comfort.

While Cora came to my imagination for Hidden Danger mostly from scratch, Jana was inspired by a real-life model. Before I was born, my parents got their first dog as a newly-married couple—a golden retriever puppy they named Jana.

From day one, Jana was the most perfect dog imaginable. She instantly housetrained herself and was, according to my parents’ stories, a perfectly obedient and trainable pup. The only thing she ever did that was less than desirable was chew a hole in a wall. But considering that was prompted by fear when lightning struck a radio in the room where Jana was alone, one could hardly blame her for wanting to escape.

When my parents started having children, Jana remained the ideal dog. Gentle and sweet with everyone, including a passel of babies and toddlers, Jana was a calm and comforting presence in the lives of those who knew her.

I can’t recall any memories of Jana myself, as I was very young when she passed away. But I love looking at a photo my parents have, of Jana next to me when I was a baby in a cradle. Though I don’t remember her, she left a legacy that has deeply impacted my life.

Because of how wonderful she was, my parents continued to have golden retrievers, giving me the blessing of growing up with one of the best breeds in the world. These goldens showed me how special dogs are and the incredible gift it is to love and be loved by a dog. I thank God for bringing Jana into our lives because of the legacy she left. And I’m grateful for the chance to honor her in Hidden Danger.

To celebrate her tour, Jerusha is giving away the grand prize package of a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card, one signed copy of Hidden Danger, and book swag!!
