JustRead Tours Blog Tour: Operation Find A Guy by Amy R. Anguish

Operation Find a Guy JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for Operation Find a Guy by Amy R. Anguish, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Operation Find a Guy

Title: Operation Find a Guy
Series:
Roadtrip Romance #3
Author:
Amy Anguish
Publisher:
Scrivenings Press
Release Date:
June 13, 2023
Genre:
Contemporary Christian Romance

Skye Jones has one goal for the summer—keep her father from taking away her convertible. That’s the only reason she’s agreed to work at her sister’s bridal shop in Boulder, Colorado. It will buy her some time to figure out if there’s a non-boring job out there. Why else would she have anything to do with weddings when she has no interest in marriage?

Benjamin Smith can’t quite figure out how he ended up a groomsman in two different weddings over the summer, but with his sister and a cousin both getting married, he’s spending a lot of time at Happily Ever After events. Falling for a blonde with no dreams of settling down wasn’t in his five-year plan, but the more he sees Skye, the more he wants to figure her out. But all she sees him as is a boring attorney and her complete opposite.

Romance was supposed to be for Skye’s friends. But Colorado might hold more than she knew she was looking for.

I really enjoy Christian Romance books and I also enjoy new to me authors. Operation Find a Guy by Amy Anguish is the most recent book that I have read that fits both of those situations. This is Book 3 of the Roadtrip Romance series. I have not read the first 2 in this series yet, but it seems to be a good Standalone book.

Skye Jones is working a Summer Job at her sisters Wedding Boutique in Boulder, Colorado. She finds it kind of ironic that she is doing this job as she has no intention of getting married in life. She is working this job for a variety of reasons, one being that she is trying to find a job that isn't boring. Benjamin Smith has agreed to be a Groomsmen in 2 Summer weddings and finds himself at Happily Ever After Bridal Shop often during the Summer months when Skye is working. Benjamin is a career man and he doesn't foresee himself settling down anytime soon, He does come to notice Skye and he seems to take a liking to her as he spends more and more time at the Bridal Shop. Will there be a Romance between Skye and Benjamin? Could Colorado Weddings bring this pair together?

I dove right into reading this book as soon as I received it and could not put it down. I will admit I was a bit put off by Skye and her attitude about life, but I think by the halfway point in the book, I began to see it was a wall she built up. Benjamin was a wonderful character from the very beginning, he truly has a Zest for life. I LOVED how Benjamin was able to get Skye to come out of her "shell" that she had put around herself. I am looking forward to reading the first 2 books in this series! GREAT BOOK!

I always love reading to Little Children. The Smell of Summer by Mary Ann Heke is the most recent Children's book that I have read to some little ones that I babysit.

April, a blind girl, uses her sense of smell to discover the Joys of Summer. The County Fair, Zoo, Grandpa's Farm are just a few of the places that April visits in the Summer. April is able to use her sense of smell to imagine what things look like!

The book is very colorfully illustrated and makes the story come to life through the pictures. I really LOVE how April uses her sense of Smell to "see" her Summer Adventures. She has many thoughts in her head as she smells all the places she visits.  I also love the message in this book that all Children can enjoy God's Beauty and surroundings through many senses! I am looking forward to more books in this series! WONDERFUL BOOK!

Mary Ann Hake, author of the Smells of the Seasons picture book series, has loved learning, reading, and writing for as long as she can remember. She has scribbled stories and poems since she first learned to write and has published hundreds of stories, articles, poems, puzzles, devotions, and more for both children and adults plus written hundreds of book reviews. She loved working in a bookstore and as a librarian and enjoyed reading to children at story times and conducting summer reading programs. She has also taught writing to children and at writers’ conferences. In addition to writing, she continues to work as a freelance editor. Visit her website, www.maryannhake.com, and sign up to receive monthly activities for children and updates on future books.

More from Mary Ann

My mother introduced me to books at a very young age. Mom read to me nearly every day—beginning with picture books then adding longer stories and poetry. I loved books and soon memorized the text of favorites so I could turn the pages and “read” them myself. (My own daughters did the same.) I could hardly wait until I went to school and learned to read so I could devour books on my own. In honor of my mom, The Smell of Summer’s release date is her birthday, May 15. I am her firstborn and her only summer baby. She always encouraged my writing.

My four-book Smells of the Seasons series are told in rhyme because that appeals to children. The Smell of Summer shares summer scenes from the life of April, a blind girl who uses her sense of smell to help her experience her world. The story includes elements that offer a fun companion text for connection to science including the senses, nature settings, animals, flowers, vegetable gardening, and other food. This is the second book in the series with April and her menagerie of pets.

Most people love summertime. This delightful picture book will stir up memories of summer experiences and offer some you may wish to enjoy this year. As the final page says:

I love the many summer smells.

So many stories each one tells.

Mary Alford has quickly become one of my favorite authors for the LOVE Inspired Suspense books. Amish Fiction is my ultimate favorite Genre to read and her books are always amazing. Amish Wilderness Survival is Mary Alford's latest novel that I have read.

Leora Mast heads to Montana to help find her brother who went missing. She knows she is risking her own life, but she has to find her brother. Fletcher Shetler becomes a friend to Leona in Montana and they 2 of them decide they will work together to solve the disappearance. Immediately they find themselves in extreme danger, but they are determined to find Leona's brother. Will they find Leona's brother before they are killed? Will there be a Romance between Leona and Fletcher?

I truly enjoyed this book from page one and could not put it down until I finished. The book is action packed from the very first chapter. Leona's determination to find her brother, Ethan, was amazing. Fletcher, Ethan's business partner, is just as worried about his friend as Leona is. The connection the 2 make while they are trying to find Ethan is very heartwarming. The book is one of Suspense, Faith and Romance.  I was on the edge of my seat MANY times and gasping at all the action! HIGHLY Recommend this book! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Mary Alford grew up in a small Texas town famous for, well not much of anything really. Being the baby of the family and quite a bit younger than her two brothers and her sister, Mary had plenty of time to entertain herself. Making up stories seemed to come naturally to her.

As a preteen, Mary discovered Phyllis Whitney and Victoria Holt and knew instinctively that was what she wanted to do with her over-active imagination.

She wrote her first novel as a teen, (it’s tucked away somewhere never to see the light of day), but never really pursued her writing career seriously until a few years later, when she wrote her first inspirational romantic suspense and was hooked.

Today, Mary lives in Texas with her husband and loves to create characters who face dangerous situations with faith on their side.

Mary is very active online and would love to connect with readers on Facebook, Twitter, or any of the social media platforms listed at maryalford.net.

Before the Story Begins

Every good Christian romantic suspense has a beginning where the hero and heroine are introduced to each other and to the danger they’ll be facing, followed by an ending where everything (usually) is tied up nicely.

In Christian (and Amish) romantic suspense, there must equal amounts of danger, romance, and faith.

As a reader, one of my favorite parts of the book is when the hero and heroine have backstories that draw me in and have me pulling for them to overcome their pasts as well as the villain chasing them.

In AMISH WILDERNESS SURVIVAL, the heroine, Leora Mast has a heartbreaking backstory. As a teenager, Leora’s and her twin brother Tanner’s parents were killed in a fire that was later ruled arson. They relocated to Colorado to be closer to their aunt and uncle and grandparents. Soon after, Leora’s brother left the Amish faith and joined the marines.

As an adult, Leora has gone through 2 separate rounds of breast cancer. She’s just finished the final round of chemo when her brother goes missing and Leora travels to West Kootenai, Montana to find Tanner’s marine lieutenant hoping to get answers about her brother’s disappearance.

Instead of finding her brother or Ethan Connors, she runs into Fletcher Shetler and the danger unfolds quickly from there.

Fletcher Shetler’s family has seen their share of heartaches as well. They have lived in West Kootenai for several generations. Fletcher’s grandfather started the furniture making business and the family mill their own timber for the pieces they create. Fletcher has a big heart and has been taking care of his mother since his father passed away.

Fletcher can’t imagine living anywhere else but his West Kootenai community and being part of a close family. But that loyalty cost him the love of his future bride when she chose to leave the community and break his heart.

Both Leora and Fletcher must put aside their pasts to try and find out what happened to her brother and Ethan before it’s too late.

From facing down armed kidnappers, to almost being swallowed alive by a sinkhole, to being forced to hideout in a cave in order to avoid being captured, Leora and Fletcher face one trial after the other, and yet they persevere thanks to each other, Ethan’s K-9 German Shepherd dog, Molly, and their faith in God that is unshakable.

Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Revealing the Truth by Lorri Dudley

Book: Revealing the Truth

Author: Lorri Dudley

Genre: Historical Romance

Release date: May 30, 2023

His suspect holds a secret, but can he uncover the truth before she steals his heart?

When Katherine Jenkins is rescued from the side of the road, half-frozen and left for dead, her only option is to stay silent about her identity or risk being shipped back to her ruthless guardian, who will kill to get his hands on her inheritance and the famous Jenkins Lipizzaner horses. But even under the pretense of amnesia, she cannot shake the memory of her sister and Katherine’s need to reach her before their guardian, or his marauding bandits, finish her off. Will she be safe in the earl’s manor, or will the assailant climbing through her window be the death of her?

British spy, Stephen Hartington’s assignment to uncover an underground horse-thieving ring brings him home to his family’s manor, and the last thing he expected was to be struck with a candlestick upon climbing through the guest chamber window. The manor’s feisty and intriguing new house guest throws Stephen’s best-laid plans into turmoil and raises questions about the timing of her appearance, the convenience of her memory loss, and her impeccable riding skills. Could he be housing the horse thief he’d been ordered to capture—or worse, falling in love with her?

Christian Historical Romance has become one of my favorite Genres to read. Revealing the Truth by Lorri Dudley is Book 1 in the Agents of Espionage Series. I am excited about this new series from Lorri Dudley. I have been enjoying other books by Lorri and I am really intrigued by this new series!

The setting of the book is the 1800s in England. Katherine Jenkins is found on the side of the road, left for dead, after fleeing her Family's Home. When she is found she fakes amnesia so she is not sent back to her family. Katherine does not want to be forced into marriage and fears the attackers will "finish her off if she goes back." She is now in hiding at the Earl's Manor. British spy, Stephen Hartington, has a new assignment which is to track down a Horse Thief Ring. He comes home and is shocked when he is struck with a candle stick while climbing through the window at the Manor. Stephen was unaware that Katherine was in the room, but she sure made her presence known. Stephen has many questions as to who Katherine is and why she is there He quickly has his questions answered and begins to have feelings for Katherine and Katherine has feelings for him. Will Stephen complete his assignment and capture the horse thief's ring? Will there be a Romance between Stephen and Katherine?

WOW, I was hooked from the very first page. Katherine endured quite a bit in her lifetime, yet she is a very determined and strong woman. I though her idea of faking Amnesia was a great idea to keep her safe. Stephen is a wonderful character in the book. He quickly gets over the shock of getting hit with the candlestick and forms a bond with Katherine. The Twists and Turn in this book kept me intrigued and I didn't put the book down until I was down reading!  I am so excited to read this series as future books are released! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Romance. WONDERFUL BOOK!!

Horses, spies, and romance…

Horse stealing in Regency England was a lucrative venture. In some instances, a sale would bring in the equivalent of a quarter of a year’s income. If caught, however, horse thievery held a high price—capital punishment, typically by hanging. Criminals were a varied group, ranging from child pranksters stealing their neighbor’s workhorse for a joy ride to professional horse-thieving rings who transported their contraband a considerable distance, over 31 miles (or 50 kilometers) and sometimes internationally. They traveled to avoid buyers who’d recognize stolen property.

The British spy network of the Regency era didn’t yet hold the famous name MI6. Instead, it formed two departments the War Department, which handled international matters, and the Home Office, which dealt with domestic issues. Revealing the Truth’s hero, Lord Stephen Hartington, works as a contracted spy for the Home Office, assigned to catch horse thieves in his hometown near the rolling hills and flowing rivers of England’s Cotswolds.

The heroine, Katherine Jenkins, has reservations regarding love and trust. She inherited the well-known Jenkin’s Lipizzaner horses, and her fortune attracts her ruthless guardian. He has two options to get his hands on her money that won’t raise her solicitor’s suspicions—marry her or have her meet with a seemingly accidental demise. Due to her guardian’s actions and Katherine’s fiancée’s rejection after her parents passed, it’s no wonder she’s hesitant about love. Through watching Stephen’s interactions with his family, God heals her heart enough to take steps of faith, but allegations of her being a horse thief threaten to undo the progress she’s made.

The seeds of Revealing the Truth were first planted when I was in the seventh grade. I used to carry an idea notebook and jot down scenes whenever inspired. My mother found my old notebook a few years ago and mailed it to me. In it were faded pencil scrawls about a girl escaping into the cold night and collapsing. She’s taken in by kind passersby who nurse her back to health, only to be surprised when their handsome young son climbs in through her bedroom window and so enters Stephen into Katherine’s life.

Enjoy!
