TealPaisleyTights_Blitz

Welcome to the Blog Blitz & Giveaway for Teal Paisley Tights by Barbara Brutt, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours! Happy Release Day to this debut author!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: Teal Paisley Tights
Author: Barbara Brutt
Publisher: Vinspire Publishing
Release Date: November 15, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Comedy

Life post-graduation was supposed to see the launch of paisley-loving Jadyn’s art career, or at least an art gallery showing one of her watercolor paintings. Instead, this Pittsburgh native is locked into a low-paying, buttoned-up consultant position with an impossible boss. When another colleague is dismissed, Jadyn inherits extra workload, including the company’s biggest client. If she loses him, she’s fired.

Jadyn people-pleases her way through life, resulting in extra work opportunities and a community classroom of art students. But when two guys appear on her doorstep, she just might not be able to people-please her way out of this love triangle. At the end of the day, she can’t please everyone.

Then, because of a small spending problem, Jadyn is evicted from her apartment, and she must move in with her know-it-all sister. Jadyn needs to decide between a job transfer that would place her near her love interest, or a full-time art career with all its risks.

Stretched like canvas between responsibility and dreams, she must choose. Will practicality always win?

Excerpt
What was so wrong with fun, patterned tights anyway?

Coffee. Coffee would take the edge off my fun-deprived morning. I slipped my black heels back on and walked out of my cubicle, only to remember that I needed to mail a client some information packets. Two steps back, and I stood over my desk, rifling through papers. I found the envelopes and scooped them up.

The cubicle wall creaked.

Ethan.

He leaned against the fabric-cladded partitioning, and warmth spread across my face. Forget garden gnomes. I wanted a life-sized marble sculpture of him. I imagined him actually leaning his entire weight against the wall, and how it would buckle underneath his pure muscle.

Smile.

Read with Audra Blog Tour: Into the Deep by Lauren Gaskill

About the Book:

Develop enduring faith for the turbulent waters of life.

Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee sunny skies and smooth sailing. In fact, the waters of life are often tumultuous, crashing over us. Sometimes we can feel that we’re drowning in a sea of confusion, division, frustration, complacency, or disillusionment. We need more than a shallow faith to survive these deep waters.
Into the Deep is an invitation to dive headfirst into a life of courageous faith. With endearing warmth and authenticity, Lauren Gaskill shares how she and others have learned to swim with Jesus in the deep waters of life—facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and chronic illness—only to discover a more authentic, enduring faith that cannot be shaken by circumstances. In addition to examining the character of God and the lives of women and men of the Bible who chose to dive deeper with God, she provides practical examples and tools that help us take our faith to the next level by learning to make decisions by faith alone, control our reactions to overwhelming situations, and live a life rooted in love.

Get ready to exchange fear and frustration for the boldness, courage, and holy confidence that lead to a life of deep faith and joy!

About the Author:

Lauren Gaskill is an author, speaker and host of the Finding Joy podcast and Finding Joy Ladies Night Out events. After being diagnosed with an incurable connective tissue disorder, Lauren made it her life mission to encourage others to fight for faith and find joy — no matter what life’s circumstances might bring.

Gaskill is a storyteller who believes stories are powerful and loves how God uses them for His good. She writes and speaks to motivate and inspire others to experience abundant life in Christ. She is particularly passionate about encouraging women to fight for faith and go deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Gaskill also writes and speaks about what it looks like to walk with Jesus through pain and suffering.

She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

My Thoughts and Review:

I was intrigued by the title of this book, as sometimes I really need to "go deep" into my faith to get uplifted. Life brings us Trials and Tribulations and we can choose to grab onto to our faith and trust Jesus to bring us out of our Trials and Tribulations.

Lauren Gaskill shares her personal struggles and and how she overcame and what she learned along the way. Lauren is very open about her struggles. The book is filled with wisdom on overcoming struggles in life and relying on God during these times. I really appreciate the "Questions for Reflections" at the end of each chapter.

GREAT book for all times of life, but especially for those who really need to "go deep" into their faith!

Book Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Most adoptive and foster children struggle at some point in their life with knowing who they are and where they belong. They want to ask questions, and parents need to be prepared with an answer that helps their child feel loved and secure.

After searching for adoption storybooks to read to her own adopted children, Katie Cruice Smith decided that there was a need for more books that parents could read at bedtime to connect with their adopted and fostered children.

In Why Did You Choose Me?, Katie Cruice Smith answers that question in a way that young children can understand. Drawing from her own experience as an adoptive mom to three children, Katie uses the questions her own children have asked to help them see there never really was a choice she knew right away that they were hers.

With beautiful illustrations by artist Sarah Strickling Jones, Why Did You Choose Me? lovingly demonstrates the uniqueness that each child brings to a family.

My Thoughts and Review:

I jumped at the chance to read and review this book. The title, "Why Did You Choose Me?"  really spoke to me. I am a Birth Parent who gave a Baby Boy up for adoption 28 years ago. I have always had it in the back of my mind, how do adoptive parents explain to Child "why they were chosen".

The book is a Children's book and written in a straight forward manner that kids as young as 4 would totally understand. I like that the first half of the book is written in a "child talking". The second half is the parent answering all the questions poised by the child. The questions and answers are so true and so sweetly answered. The illustrations in the book really bring the story to life! AMAZING artistry within the illustrations.

I really enjoyed this book and it has been so encouraging to me as a Birth Parent and now my "inquiring mind" has some answers.

EXCELLENT book for Adoptive Families and for those who Foster Children!

My Thoughts and Review:
Enchanting Nicholette is a short Novella, and a very good read. The storyline starts off a little slow, but by Chapter 3 it really picks up and becomes really interesting.

I really like the fact that Nicholette goes from an arranged marriage to finding love on her own. The new love is a better fit for her and the Characters in the book are quite the beautiful couple.

Enchanting Nicholette is Book 5 in a series. I have not yet read the first 4 in the series, but I was not lost in reading this. The book is a great standalone novella. I am quite interested in reading more books from Dawn Crandall, after reading this one!

Great book and also a FAST read book!

My Thoughts and Review:

I have dreams of sitting on a Front Porch telling stories to my kids, family and friends. I don't have that type of Front Porch yet, but I look forward to that day soon. Time on the Front Porch with Family and Friends is memory making and very cherished memories, something I did as a kid in my neighborhood growing up.

A Southern Season, Stories from the Front Porch swing is a book that totally reminds me of my Childhood times on a porch. The 4 stories included in the book are short stories, but are filled with memories and cherished time. 4 Stories=1 story from each Season. The stories are short but ohhh so sweet.

A VERY Easy Read and one that tugs at your heart and creates joy!

JustRead Tours: The Secret of Willow Inn by Pat Nichols Blog Blitz, Excerpt and Giveaway

The Secret of Willow Inn blog blitz new

Welcome to the Blog Blitz & Giveaway for The Secret of Willow Inn by Pat Nichols, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours.

ABOUT THE BOOK

TheSecretofWillowInnCover Title:The Secret of Willow Inn (Willow Falls #1)
Author: Pat Nichols
Publisher: Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas
Release Date: January 10, 2019
Genre: Inspirational Contemporary Fiction

Two women fighting for their dreams, one who’s long lost hers, are united by tragedy and a long-held secret.

Pregnant with her first child, Emily Hayes is eager to help her mother finish transforming an estate into the Willow Inn and write a novel about Willow Falls’ colorful history. A tragic event threatens her parents’ plans to refurbish an abandoned hotel and transform the obscure Georgia setting into a tourist destination.

Sadie Lyles left Willow Falls a murderer who’d killed the town hero. She returns as a despised felon and seeks solace in the town’s café. Emily struggles to unite the close-knit community and becomes Sadie’s biggest advocate. She strives to uncover the truth about the crime and save her town from dying.

To appease her father, Rachel, a VP in his Atlanta real-estate-development firm, relegates her acting dream to secret performances for imaginary audiences. After meeting charming, flirtatious Charlie Bricker, manager for Willow Falls’ future vineyard, she vows to break free from her father’s control.

The tragedy and Willow Inn’s secret past launch Emily and Rachel on a collision course with destiny and truth.

Excerpt:
The kitchen door swung open again. Pepper motioned to her friend. “Come on over and meet Emily Hayes. She's helping her mom transform Robert's house into the Willow Inn and her husband Scott runs Hayes General Store. He took over after his father passed away.”

Emily extended her hand and gazed into Sadie's blue eyes. Crow's feet and wrinkles on her forehead made her look years older than Pepper, yet didn't diminish her pretty features. “It's a pleasure to meet you.”

Sadie stared at Emily's hand and kept her arms clamped to her sides. “Your daddy-in-law always treated me and Mama like hometown folks.”

He was a charmer, all right.” Surprised by her refusal to make contact, Emily withdrew her hand and took a sip of orange juice.

Emily is going to become our town’s most famous celebrity, besides Naomi Jasper.”

Robert had one of her paintings.” Sadie pulled the cash from her apron. “He claimed she’d hit it big someday.”

He had a good eye. Anyway, Emily plans to write a novel.”

Sadie moved to the cash register and opened the drawer. “I bet she's itching to know what it's like to live behind bars.” She transferred the money.

Heat crept up Emily's neck and warmed her cheeks. She glanced at Pepper and shrugged.

Sadie pushed the drawer closed. “I learned how to read people years ago, it’s an important skill for jailhouse survival.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Pat

Pat Nichols is proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams.

During the spring, summer, and early autumn of her life this side of heaven, she and her high-school-sweetheart husband struggled and triumphed through life’s peaks and valleys. They raised two children, welcomed four grandchildren—one is with the angels—bought a Corvette, and ticked off every item on their travel bucket list. Now approaching her winter years, she ignores the minor aches that come with age and is grateful she can still paint her own toenails and dance with her hubby.

Following twenty-five years in six different management positions with an international beauty company, Pat launched career number two as a novelist and freelance editor. She chose women’s fiction to honor her daughter’s strength in the face of significant health issues and the loss of a child. Her corporate experience, working with hundreds of amazing women from all walks of life, inspires her to create stories about women who confront challenges in the pursuit of their dreams.

Although she writes five days a week, she and Tim—her best friend and number one fan—continue to celebrate their fifty-plus-year marriage. They lead a small group, volunteer for church guest services, participate in two social organizations, and spend time with family and friends. She thanks God for the blessings that brought her joy and the challenges that continue to strengthen her faith, skills, and resolve.

Pat was born in Illinois, grew up in Orlando, and has called Georgia home since the eighties. She lives in an Atlanta suburb, is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Word Weavers, Christian Pen, and Gwinnett Church (a campus of Northpoint Ministries).
