Christian Historical Fiction books are a favorite Genre of mine. I also like reading Mystery books. I was very intrigued to read this book, A Vanishing Act by Edwina Kiernan because it combines the 2 genres into one book. This book is Book 11 in the Ever After Mystery series which is written by several different authors. I have read quite a few books in this series and I always enjoy them.

The Book is set in the 1940s and is a Fairytale retelling of Beauty of the Beast. Kent Selwood is a Hollywood legend and he likes to be the "star", so he isn't happy that he has been paired with a new actress, Stella Sanders. He makes it clear that he doesn't want her to be acting with him. Bonnie Roseland, the set Seamstress, often wonders why she is still working in this environment. She knows her faith in God upholds her and often she wonders what God's purpose for her is. She soon finds out what her purpose is when Blackmailing letters come to the Studio, not too long after Stella disappears. Kent is the immediate suspect, although Bonnie sets out to prove that the letters are not from him. Can Bonnie help prove Kent is not the one sending Blackmail letters? Can Bonnie also help find and save Stella? 

WHOA, this book is a definite Page Turner.  I couldn't and didn't put the book down until I was finished. Kent's jealousy leads to accusations that get him banned from the Studio. My favorite character was Bonnie. I LOVE how she comes from behind the scenes and helps solve the mystery of all the happenings at the Studio.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Christian Historical Fiction and Mystery! FANTASTIC BOOK!
