Celebrate Lit Blog Tour: Not Exactly Mr. Darcy by Carolyn Miller

Book: Not Exactly Mr. Darcy

Author: Carolyn Miller

Genre: Romance/Contemporary/Christian Fiction

Release Date: December, 2025

Pride, Pemberley, and Second Chances

When history-loving Olivia Bennett’s teaching contract isn’t renewed, she is considered her family’s logical choice to care for her ailing grandmother in a tiny English village. While there, she soon finds additional work at nearby Hartbury Hall—one of England’s great houses once used as Pemberley in a filmed production of Pride and Prejudice. The head gardener there, however, proves to be anything but the gentlemanly hero of that famous book. Little does she know that behind Liam Browne’s brusque exterior is both a family tragedy and a legacy that demands truth and honor, creating a crisis that only Liv’s vivacious determination can resolve. Along the way, she may just learn that appearances count for naught. . .and that love can be found in unexpected ways.

Christian Contemporary Romance is a genre that I read very often. Not Exactly Mr. Darcy by Carolyn Miller is the latest in this genre that I have read.

I immediately started reading this book and it kept me intrigued, even stayed up to finish reading it. The setting is a small English Village. The main characters are Olivia Bennett and Liam Browne. Olivia takes on a new path when she loses her job as a History Teacher. Her parents decide to send Olivia to be the caretaker for her Grandmother. Liam is the Gardener for Hartbury Hall, which was the house used in the filming of Pride and Prejudice. Olivia isn't charmed by Liam when they first meet, she thinks he is a bit standoffish. I really LOVE that as Olivia and Liam begin working on the Garden of Hartbury Hall, they also get to know each other. The friendship turns into a relationship and Olivia learns Liam's story and the real reason he has a wall built around him. The author does a wonderful job at being detailed about  the English surroundings. The book is filled with Faith, Second Chances, Romance and understanding. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Romance with an English flare. GREAT BOOK!
